Liam’s POV

For the first time in a very long time I had a reason to smile even when it’s not necessary.

I really couldn’t stop thinking about my mate and the fact that she is currently here.

Lexi still hasn’t calm down though. He seems more agitated after what Carla told us about our mate.

The people mentioned are not some persons we can just wave under the rugs and it will go away. If what she says is true then we have more than a battle ahead of us.

But we need to enjoy the little peace and harmony we have. It might seems like the calm before the storm but we will take it. Now I have to up our security and at the same time make sure to be extra vigilant.

While I was trying to go through some papers in the office to calm my racing nerves due to the presence of our mate.

I heard a knock, I could tell who it was from his scent but curtsey demands he knocks before coming in.

“Come in” I answered him.

My friend Desmond walked in with a bottle of wine in his hands.

“I hear someone has finally got himself a mate. It’s such a shame that I got left in the single wolf category” he said while smiling at me

Desmond and Micheal are the only two friends I have got in the pack. We grew up together and have faced a lot together having each others backs.

They are more than just my beta and my gamma which is Desmond’s position in the pack, they are my best friends and brothers and other it was just Micheal that had met his mate Tamia we weren’t really bothered about mate thing.

Tamia was a close friend to Allison which made our relationship closer.

Tamia was a big fan of me making Allison the Luna and although her mate Micheal never really liked Allison he couldn’t stop the friendship between both girls.

“So when do I get to met our Luna, heard she is a human”Desmond said

Words do travel fast but I guess the traveller of this news is no other than Micheal and if Desmond has heard this much I know that Tamia has probably heard everything and that also means that Allison would soon be in the pack house to create drama.

It’s going a be a long day.

“She is currently taking a rest in her room. She still hasn’t come to term yet with everything happening so I am giving her a little space to get herself together. It’s not everyday you get to know about the existence of werewolves and also to know that you are mates to someone you have never known and would be spending the rest of your life with them.” I said smiling down

“But you trust the moon goddess right? I mean she won’t give you a mate that won’t want you.? It’s not really her I'm worried about but your humble self. You have always said you didn’t need or even want a mate. How are you holding up having one that is not just a human but might be too weak to defend herself as your Luna.” He said touching the books at my library

His words made me think back to when that rogue had a blade to her neck and how she bit him to get him to release her. I smiled to myself and the answer to his question came rushing through my head immediately

“My mate is not weak or not able to defend herself. With the right training she can defeat some werewolves.”

And I know that once I mark her she would share some of my strength and if channelled properly she can be unstoppable.

The moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes in her pairing so I knows that she is the perfect mate for me.

“Wow my friend is smitten”

I heard Desmond saying which giving me a strange look of surprise.

“Well you won’t know that feeling until you find your mate and can’t get her face off your mind daily.”

Desmond had a change of face for a split second, there was pain clearly evident in his eyes that Liam wondered if he actually saw the change in his face but he was back to old smiling self again

“Nah!! I don’t want all that mushy experience and all that you and Micheal have and that look of being lost somewhere is definitely not my thing. I like to hang out with the girls and change them daily brother so am such the moon goddess understand that this child of hers, he ain’t going to be like the others panting for a woman who would be representing the name mate in my life.” He replied confidently

I laughed at him. I have always known that Desmond was not the type that stick to one woman so I have always wondered how it would be like for him having a mate.

Although I had not thought I would be able to handle a mate I was more than smitten by mine when I saw her. So I believe that the moon goddess would give him someone that would change his life just like his mate.

Speaking about mates I need to start making plans on how to induce into the pack and introduce her to the people as their Luna.

This way she would have protection from the pack members.

The story that Carla told me is still lingering in my mind. I might not have wanted a mate but I definitely won’t want any soulless b***h claiming her any time soon.

“I think there is more to our mate than meets the eye.” Lexi suddenly said.

“Glad to have you back buddy you have being extremely quiet since the incident.”

Initially I thought it was because Kylie was in coma that Lexi was restless but when she finally came out of it he became more silent and withdrawn. This is the first time he is talking to me.

“While she was in coma I sensed an energy coming off her that I couldn’t understand. I had that same feeling the first time we met her but I felt it was because she wasn't a wolf, but knowing she was not a like us I had my doubts. But when she was in coma I felt it again but this time it was stronger. It was a familiar aura. It was teasing my senses like I have felt it before or that I know this person from a long time ago. I can’t shake the feeling that we have met before, and this person is not a human.” Lexi said pacing around

“Lexi I can’t make sense of what you are saying right now, but if I get you correctly you sense an hidden energy within our mate.”

“Yes, and ancient energy. One that is suppose to not exist anymore.” Lexi said and sat on an Invisible chair.

“Can you pinpoint who has this energy.” I asked him

“I can’t liam. I come from a long line of Pure wolves. I have had my share of human counterparts. I reincarnated because of a past mistake that needs to be corrected. But aside from me no one else was reincarnated. But what I feel from our mate is strong and old. She is more than welcome think” Lexi said Playing with something in my head

If what Lexi is saying is any close to be correct then I need to act faster than I imagine. The danger might be bigger than what I anticipated.

“Earth to Liam ..” Desmond suddenly said.

“Wow bro having a mate does really change a man.” Desmond laughed

“This has nothing to do with me” Even though it’s kinda has to do with her I thought to myself.

“I was just having a conversation with Lexi. We need to double the security at the borders and synchronize the persons that are withing the pack. We need to account for those present and absent and also make sure we know those going out and coming in.”

“Yes alpha” Desmond said

That’s the thing I love about Desmond he doesn’t joke with pack matters. He might be a serial womaniser but a great warrior and loyal member of my pack.

I was about replying Desmond when I heard a shrilling scream of my name mixed with an annoying shout at my pack members.

I knew who it was even before she came to my office. Information really do travel fast and now suddenly I have to deal with Allison. Not that I have to do much.

“Liam what is this that you are doing.” She asked immediately she entered the office.

“We have being together for years now and you just want to throw me aside for some low life human who just came into the picture. You didn’t even tell me but rather brought her here. Don’t you think I deserve a little bit of respect than be treated at the same level with a trash like Kylie” She said panting

I couldn't fathom what happened next but I do know that my anger could not be contained and Lexi took over.

The next thing I could see what him choking Allison against the wall. Even Desmond couldn’t do anything about it.

“Don’t you dare talk about my mate in that tune again. You are lucky that you use to be Liam’s play thing and I won’t want to make love with the guilt of killing you otherwise by now you would be dead. Try this again and I would forget about you being his plaything or a beta’s daughter and I will send you to meet your parents”

I have seen Lexi’s anger on the battlefield and even towards those are enemies to us but never thought a day would come when he would become so defensive because of our mate.

He released Allison by throwing her again the door. I heard the sound of some bones breaking but that’s one of the peaks of being a werewolf she would be healed in no time.

Desmond helped her up. Her pride kicked in and she shoveled him away from her

loor before leaving the office crying.
