Jacob's Point of View I was starting to become aware of other sounds around the hospital room. And that meant I was being pulled towards consciousness, which in turn meant that I wasn't going to die. The burning pain that had been traveling through my blood for what felt like months on end was almost at a manageable level. The pain medication I had been administered had been dramatically cut, consequently allowing me to ignore the pain in my heart. The improvement had come when someone had started singing. At first, I had thought it was the songs of the angels that were taking me to see the Moon Goddess and my mother. But as much as I wanted to see my Mom, I wanted to see my son more.
