Why was she back here? Senya shivered and wrapped her arms around her. Even so, she couldn’t help but draw closer to the cursed tree that twisted up from the middle of the garden. She paused at the odd palpitations of magic pulsing from it. Had that always been there? Now more curious than afraid, Senya cautiously moved forward, careful to step over the roots that jutted out from the ground. The magic grew stronger, as if she were forcing her way through a blizzard. She eventually reached the magic tree, feeling out of breath and exhausted. Her magic twisted and strained.
