When I opened my eyes, I was on my bed in my room. I groaned heavily as the lights from the window blinded my vision slightly. My head was fuzzy with pain, and every movement sent sharp waves of pain through my body.
It felt like the entire world had just come crashing on me, my breath catching in my throat as if each exhale amplified the pain. I tried to get up, but a searing pain shot up from my chest, spreading through my body like fire.
