Jihyun isn’t an insecure man, he’s never felt unsure about himself, not since he was a child. But when he overhears Aria’s father and Cedric speaking about his relationship with Aria, he feels inadequate.
“She’ll leave him soon enough,” her father comments offhandedly.
“How can you be so sure?” Cedric asks.
“She’s a good girl,” is her father’s reply, “She’s drawn to other good people as well. Jihyun is fleeting, her way of acting out because she feels like she has no choice. His novelty will wear off soon.”
The words hit a chord within him, something he’d been very carefully avoiding, and when he returns to Aria’s room without the glass of water she’d asked for, she looks at him in worry.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, staring at the thoughtful look on his face.
“Nothing,” Jihyun mum
