The Secretary

Chapter 1

Ten years later

“s**t s**t” I said as the alarm clock rang, 45 minutes to 8 o’clock . I’m going to be late for my interview. Wtf. I hurriedly took my bath wore my outfit that my best friend Gracie helped me pick out and I did my make up.

I ran outside in the freezing winter hailed a cab; “Lockforth industries please”. “Id give you an extra 20 if you can get me there quickly”.

“ you’re on” said the driver.

I quickly used the time to go over my notes and check my makeup if anything is out of place. I really needed this job. My job at the strip club pays but I can’t be a stripper forever can I?? It’s time I branch out into something else; into the corporate world. Hence I applied for a secretarial role at Lockforth industries. Do I think I’d get the role?? I highly doubt it but it’s worth trying.

“We’re here miss” the driver said and he pulled me out of my thoughts.

“Oh my thank you, you really kept to your word. As promised; here’s your pay”

“Thank you, good bye”

I stepped into the office, this is it. It’s now or never.

“ Hello Good Morning, how can I help you” the receptionist asked.

“Hi” I smiled.

“My name is Rae Jones, I’m here for the interview for the role of the secretary”

“Oh right” she said.

“Take the elevator to your right and go to the 5th floor someone would meet you there”

“Thank you”

“Hello, I’m Rae Jones, I was told to come up here for the interview for the secretarial role interview by the receptionist downstairs “ I said to the receptionist.

“Good morning, please have a seat, your name would be called and Mrs Griggs would see you”.

“Thank you”

“Wtf I told you to send in the email in the font size 13 not 12 now our client called saying he can’t see it; you’re fired b***h” I heard someone yelling from the office at the end of the hall. I wonder what that’s all about I hope I won’t have to work under that guy.

“Miss Jones, Mrs Giggs would see you now” David the receptionist said.

“Uh thank you” I stood up and went into the office he directed me to.

“Good morning” I said smiling.

“Good morning Miss Jones, I’m Mrs Giggs. I hope you didn’t wait for long.”

“No, not at all”

“ seeing as you are the only one who applied for the job and we have an impromptu vacancy as you just witnessed down the hall, you’re hired.”

“Oh wow, thank you so much you would not be disappointed I promise”

“Oh that’s not my problem, you don’t have to please me, it’s Mr William you have to please”.

“ okay ma’am, would I be starting work today?? Also are there any specifications of the job, I think that would help my performance greatly”

“Nothing really, just do what you are supposed to do at the right time and do it well. You start next Monday, Mr William would be traveling tomorrow for a work trip”

“Okay, thank you.”

The first thing I did when I left the office was to call Gracie to tell her the good news.

I have to prepare for the strip club. Today is going to be funnnn.
