Emily

My name is Emily and I live in a small town in Georgia. The sun was shining so bright this early morning, I draw the cotton to cover the ray of sun penetrating through the window.

After tossing on the bed for a couple of minutes, I stood up and went straight into the bathroom. Today is the last day of school and I cannot wait for summer break to come.

After spending time in the bathroom I

came out to dress up, I settled for a baggy faded jeans and baggy shirt as well. I goes to one of the most prestigious school in America and it’s a school for the rich and don’t even question on how a nobody like me got into that school, well newsflash it’s all thanks to my good brain I was able to secure a scholarship there.

I was heading down to the kitchen when I began to hear noises in the living room, and quietly I hide in a corner and saw my mother on her knees with tears in her eyes as she was pleading with a scary looking men with guns and mask on their faces

“Please don’t take my daughter away please” My mum pleaded in tears

“Twenty fours hours that’s all we give you to get our boss’s money ready, else get ready to say good bye to your daughter, understand?!” He yelled pointing a gun to my mothers forehead and my mum nodded in fear, trembling

The men was about to leave when one of them suddenly stopped and turned to my mum

“And don’t even think of running away” He threatened and finally left

I quickly rushed downstairs and embraced my mom in a tight hug, as we cried in each other's arms.

“Mom, who were those creepy and scary looking men and why were they requesting that huge amount of money?”

“My dear, that's the money your father borrowed from their boss when I was sick and since then we haven't been able to pay them back”

“How much are we owing them?”

“We are owning them 2000 dollars” Mom said in tears

“2000 dollars!" I shouted,

“How on earth are we going to get that kind of money in twenty four hours?”

“Don’t worry too much, everything is going to be fine, and nobody is taking you away from me” Mom assured me

So I went to school cause it's the last day of school, and thank goodness it's summer break so I can help mom in raising the money.

I took my final exams, and bid farewell to my best friend Hazel, I quickly rushed home. When I got home mom wasn't around. I guess she's still going to be at her work place, so I went to my room, and I took out my old piggy bank from it's hidden place, I opened it and could only find 100 dollars which is not even half of the money that was needed, I became confused, tired and disappointed, what do I do? Where am I supposed to get $2000 from, it's not like I've seen that amount of money before.

I quickly took my bath and changed into a white floral gown, I went out in search of help in my neighborhood but everyone turned me down including those that my father has once helped in the past, I was devastated and confused. Those men are coming back tonight and there's no money to give to them.

I got home and mom was already back from work .

“Good evening mom” I greeted her, she gave me a warm smile and asked

“Where are you coming back from?”

“I'm sorry mum that I could be of help at this critical situation, I checked my piggy bank and saw only $100, I also went and asked for help around our neighborhood but nobody was able to help, I'm sorry I don't know what else we are going to do”

“Come here” She said to me with arms wide open, and I pulled closer as she engulfed in a warm hug

“Everything is going to be fine dear, you don't have to worry so much okay” My mum whispered soothing words to my ear, minutes later we pulled away from the hug

“Let's go make dinner” She said to me and I stood up as we both made our way to the kitchen to prepare dinner. After we had dinner we were in the sitting room feeling so worried with my mother's eyes constantly darting towards the door in fear, in as much she tried to be strong in front of me, I can still sense the fear in body language.

Hours later, I was already dozing off on the couch when we began to hear a loud knock, kick and bang on our door, I sprang up from the couch, and saw that my mum was already pacing back and forth, I knew immediately that it was those men,

“Go and hide” My mum whispered with fear and panick, but instead of hiding I quickly rushed upstairs to get the $100 from my piggy bank. I was rushing back downstairs when I heard my mother's teary voice, I halted on my step and look up only to see that our door has been broken down, my mother was on her knees begging for mercy,

“Please sir, can you give us one more week to raise the money?” Mom pleaded with her two clasped together, I quickly ran to my mother's side and crumbled on my knees, immediately my mother saw me, she was shocked and panicked

“What are doing here?” She whispered, I raised my piggy bank to the men

“Please sir, I have 100 dollars with me can you take it, I know it's little but I promise to raise the remaining $1900 before the week runs out" I pleaded with them.

"Young lady, your father have been owing our boss 2000 dollars for the past one year, and the boss ordered that if the money is not yet ready we are should take you with us as a payment for your father's debt untill your mom completes her payment”

“No, no, no! Please don't take my daughter away from me please!” My mum pleaded in tears hugging, while I also hugged her back refusing to let go, one of the men came and pushed my mother away, he lifted me up and dragged me out

“Mum……..!”

“Mum please don't let them take me away!” I cried, but those men were holding myother captive, they threw inside the car and slammed the door shut, I kept on hitting on the window looking at my poor mother, the men finally let her go and joined us in the car but it was already too late, as they drove off, my mum kept on running but she could not catch up with us. one of the men suddenly dragged me away from the window and blindfolded my eyes, I was so scared of what would become my faith now I have always heard stories of people becoming s*x slaves but never have I imagined that it would happen to me.

I heard the sound of gate opening and the next minute, I was dragged out of the car, but this time they removed my blind fold, and I got to see the house. It was a very huge mansion like those we see on TV but this one is very gigantic and extraordinarily magnificent. It was painted in all white and it's almost look like heaven on earth, but strangely so many huge looking men in masked and black outfit carrying guns were all over the place.

I was dragged inside and immediately I behold the inside of the mansion, I knew in my mind that I have been sold to some dangerous people, how on earth is someone rich enough to decorate the inside of a mansion with pure diamond, something is not right I need to run away I can't stay here, Emily you need to think if something.

“Sit down here” He ordered, I sat down in fear on one of the couch, not long after he came back and took me upstairs, locking me in a room. Tears rolled down my eyes as I looked around the room, my poor mother flashed my mind, how is she doing? How is she going to cope without me, caused ever since dad passed away it was just me and her.

I was lost in thought and didn't realize when someone opened the door and walked

“Hey” I heard a voice and slowly look up with a teary face only to see an old woman dressed in a Maud's uniform

“Here is your dres for tonight, take your bath and get ready to serve the boss in the club and make sure to bathe properly the boss hates dirt the most”

My heart skipped immediately, who is the boss is he the one that my father borrowed money from? Gosh I don't want to see him somebody please take me away from here.
