A SUPPOSEDLY HAPPY UNIVERSITY LIFE

524 Words
Hallways are flooded with students. The fields are filled with athletes playing sports. Sophia can compare the crowd of students to a busy sidewalk during rush hour. Holding tightly to Lety's hand and to her book on the other, they decided to traverse the busy hallway to their respective rooms. Unfortunately for the two girls, they don't have the same schedule and have to split. "Will you be alright?" Sophia asked amidst the noise of the crowd. She heard no response from Lety, so she looked back. The moment she stopped, someone bumped into her. "Awwwww," Sophia fell and her book scattered along the floor. Lety, seeing the situation as an opportunity to escape, hurriedly ran away with the guise of being swept away by the crowd. Sophia hurriedly got up to look for Lety. "Lety? Lety? Lety, where are you?" she went on her toes and tried looking around. "Uh, miss I am sorry, and here are your books," a man in glasses with his hair in a low ponytail caught Sophia's attention. "You --" RIIIIINNNGGGGG RIIIIINNNGGGGG Sophia grunted and snatched the book out of the man's hand. She had a lot to say, but thanks to the bell signaling the start of classes, the man was spared. _tch, such a snob_ the man thought. He fixed his glasses and straightened his crumpled clothes. After fixing himself, he also strutted away. Lety had a satisfied grin on her face as she sat down in the cafeteria, remembering Sophia's situation in the morning. She had fun watching Sophia on the floor. However, not long after she sat down, a scowl replaced the grin on her face, on the door was Sophia surveying the cafeteria. She really wanted to have a life without Sophia in it. She felt that it was Sophia that was taking all the good luck away from her. She belies that Sophia does not bring good luck. Instead, she absorbs good luck. "Lety, finally I found you! I was so worried," Sophia hurriedly went on. Lety forced a smile on her face and greeted Sophia. The day went on with Lety keeping her scowl from Sophia and Sophia feeling excited. On the rooftop, a man was sitting on the railings, holding a book. "So she is here?" "Yes, I confirmed it myself." "Did you get her schedule?" "Yes, I also fixed yours so that you will have the same classes with her for the whole semester." "Good." A butterfly flew over and the man snatched it at the perfect moment. The butterfly was trying to get out of the man's hold, flapping its wings as hard as it could. The man smiled eerily. With malice in his eyes, he slowly crushed the butterfly in his hand, tightening his grip slowly. He opened his hands, revealing a once beautiful butterfly becoming a crumpled mess. The butterfly is not yet dead but its wings were damaged so they have no return. It was torn and crumpled. It tried flapping its wings in hopes of flying away but failed miserably. "Sophia Luccede Chan, just you wait and you will become like this beautiful butterfly."
