Lilian's POV:
The next morning, I woke up early, excitement and nerves swirling in my stomach. Today was the day I would start my internship at Blackwood Foundation. I took a deep breath and set about getting ready. I need to make a strong first impression, so I chose my outfit carefully.
I stood in front of my wardrobe, my fingers grazing over the various options. Finally, I settled on an emerald green shirt. I buttoned it up carefully, making sure each button was perfectly aligned. I paired it with a pair of tailored black trousers and added a pair of black heels to complete the look. The outfit was professional yet stylish, exuding elegance.
Next, I brushed my hair until it shone , letting it fall in soft waves around my shoulders. I applied a touch of makeup just enough to highlight my features without being overpowering. A swipe of mascara, a hint of blush, and a nude lipstick to give the natural glow. I glanced in the mirror, feeling all snatched I crowned my dressing with my vanilla scent perfume
Grabbing my bag, I headed out the door I need to catch the early morning bus to the Blackwood Foundation and the last thing I wanted was to go late. As I hurried down the street, my mind buzzing with anticipation, a screeching sound brought me back to reality. A sleek, black luxury car had swerved dangerously close, causing me to fall to the ground. My heart pounded with adrenaline and anger as I marched toward the car, fists clenched.
The car looked pretty expensive and I could tell immediately that it was owned by a rich fellow, but even though I can't allow someone override me because they were rich. without hesitation, I knocked sharply on the tinted window, my anger bubbling over.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” I shouted, my voice echoing in the morning air. “Did you have any intention of killing me! I screamed at the peak of my voice my eyes shooting daggers at him”
The driver's door opened, and a well dressed man in his thirties stepped out, his face pale with shock. “I’m so sorry, miss. I didn’t see you,” he stammered, his eyes wide with concern.
But his apology did little to stop my anger. “You didn't see me, are you blind? You think a simple sorry makes up for almost running me over?” I snapped, my eyes blazing.
Just then, the back door of the car opened, and a man stepped out, exuding an aura of power and confidence. He was tall, well built, with broad shoulders that strained against his tailored suit. His dark hair was impeccably styled, he had an outstanding golden eye that seems piercing directly into you I was almost lost in the aura of how wealthy and how expensive he looked a hint of a smirk played on his lips. His presence was commanding, yet he wore a surprisingly warm smile on as he looked at me, like he has found something he lost.
“Is there a problem here?” he asked, his deep voice smooth and calm, causing a contrast to the chaos of the moment.
I turned to face him, my anger still burning at the smile on his face. “What's so funny?” I demanded, glaring up at him. “Your driver just almost hit me! Is this how you rich people behave in London?”
The man’s smile remained, though it softened slightly. “Is there anything you want me to do in exchange for almost hitting you ?” he asked calmly, his eyes starring straight into my eyes.
I was getting so pissed at how calm he was, the way he seems so unmoved pissed me the more an apology of course I demanded and he chuckled out lightly this one act made me feel so much like a fool.
“Sorry, he apologized,” starring into my eyes to see obviously waiting for my reaction,
my frustration reaching its peak I was more angry at the smile on his face than anything. “Keep your sorry to yourself. Rubbish!” I spat out, turning on my heel to walk away, as I walked past him I could still feel his gaze boring at me but I didn't even turn to spare him another look.
As I made my way to the bus station I quickened my pace, heading toward the bus station I was trying do hard not to be late on my first day.
As I hurried down the street, the image of the man’s amused expression kept playing in my head. His reaction had been infuriatingly calm, almost as if he found the whole situation entertaining. Who the hell does he think he is? I thought, my anger simmering just below the surface. I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the encounter he had better stay off my way because if I ever catch him and his miserable driver I will make them regret I mummured to myself my anger still bubbling
By the time I reached the bus station, I got there almost in time as the bus had just arrived I boarded the bus, taking a seat by the window and watching the city blur past as we headed towards the Blackwood Foundation.
By the time the bus reached my stop, my nerves had settled, replaced by a growing excitement. I stepped off the bus and walked briskly to the imposing building of the Blackwood Foundation. The sleek, modern architecture loomed above me, and I paused for a moment to take it all in it was surely the top ranking business company for a reason. This was it the beginning of my dream come true.
As I walked through the revolving doors, the cool air of the lobby washed over me. The receptionist's desk was a sleek expanse of marble, and behind it sat a young woman with a friendly smile. I approached her, feeling a string of excitement and nerves.
“Good morning,” I said with a bright smile, trying to keep my voice steady. "I’m Lilian Hemsworth, here for the internship."
The receptionist glanced at her computer screen, then looked up at me with a smile. “Welcome, Lilian. Let me get your ID card.” She reached into a drawer and handed me a lanyard with a sleek, professional looking ID card. ‘You'll need this to access the building. The boss will address all the interns on the first floor. Take the elevator just around the corner.”
“Thank you,” I replied, my fingers closing around the lanyard. I slipped it over my neck, the card resting against my chest. With a deep breath, I headed toward the elevators.
The ride to the first floor was brief but felt like an eternity. My heart pounded as I stepped out and was immediately greeted by a man in his forties. He had a friendly demeanor, with a slight smile and welcoming eyes.
“Good morning,” he said. “You must be one of the new interns. Follow me, please.”
I nodded, following him down a sleek hallway. My heels clicked softly on the polished floor, and I tried to project confidence, despite the butterflies in my stomach. He led me to a room where a group of other interns was already gathered. The room buzzed with nervous energy.
“Please take a seat,” the man said, gesturing to the rows of chairs.
I chose a seat in the third row, trying to gauge the atmosphere. As I settled into my chair, I glanced around at the other interns. Some were chatting quietly, while others sat alone, fiddling with their ID cards or scrolling through their phones. Everyone seemed to be in their own world, their expressions a mix of excitement and anxiety what was so exciting to me at the moment was the fact I was going to get to see Jethro Blackwoods I really can't wait I wonder how he looks I thought to myself waiting anxiously
I crossed my legs and adjusted my blouse, making sure I looked presentable. I was more than excited because I will get to see the almighty Jethro Blackwoods, my mentor I sat there anticipating his arrival.
The door at the front of the room opened, and a hush fell over the interns. My heart skipped a beat as a tall, commanding figure stepped in, my jaw almost dropped to the ground when I saw his face
“what the f**k” I mummured underneath my breath it was the man from earlier the one whose driver almost ran me over he turned towards my direction immediately as if he could feel my presence our eyes meet and I immediately throw my face away a smirk played on his face again as he walked towards the podium
Lilian you are so screwed you shouted at Jethro Blackwoods the almighty business Tycoon and his driver I cursed inwardly beads of sweet forming on my forehead I could hardly breath I looked up and our eye meet again can the ground just open up and swallow me already.
