VIKTOR'S POV
"This case is adjourned until the night of the full moon," Gregory announced.
It wasn't what I'd expected.
My heart slammed against my chest. My soul nearly left my body. Not out of fear for myself... but for those who would be there.
"And if he's indeed guilty?" Rhyder asked, his smugness returning like he'd already won.
Gregory’s eyes lingered on my pack document, still open before him. His fingers drummed once, twice. Then he closed the file. His gaze lifted again.
