Chapter 44: Are you afraid of me?
VIKTOR'S POV
Everything had been chaos. Instead of dropping the topic like I asked yesterday, Drake went and got Ravenna to rally behind him. I bet Aeron would’ve joined too, if he wasn’t so caught up with pack security.
I would almost think he was purposely keeping busy since last night—if we weren’t actually dealing with a real threat.
Aeron never joked when it came to duty.
Ravenna, of course, came with her usual tricks. Tears, at first. And when that didn’t work, she switched to blackmail. They wanted me to reconsider a decision I had clung to for nearly ten years.
I couldn’t understand why they were suddenly so desperate for me to find a solution, especially now, when time was nearly up. They had always been obsessed, but not like this.
