The second Amelia spotted Selene, her eyes instantly flushed red. "Selene!"
Selene looked back at her, a wave of mixed emotions washing over her. "Amelia."
Amelia had managed her for three whole years. Sure, most of the time she'd had to stick strictly to official business, no exceptions made. But to Selene, she was still one of the very few glimmers of warmth in that dark, miserable stretch of her life.
Amelia swiped the tears rolling down her cheeks and nodded at her. "Come with me."
Selene trailed after her into the meeting room. The previous boss, Mr. Peterson, had been arrested a long time ago for breaking the law, and the company had a brand-new person at the helm now.
Amelia made the introduction quickly. "Selene, this is Mr. Wright, our new boss."
