CHAPTER 20

1054 Words
GILDA'S POV I stood in front of them all, the maids, Japheth and even little Angel stood there, watching me. Vera stood there as well, she was asked to get into the house. Her mouth hung open as she saw how big and beautiful the house was. She was dating Ethan and had not been to this house. I wonder if he truly likes her. " What's this all about?" Japheth asked. I could feel every anger in his voice. It was heavy, with so much bitterness, not for me but for the situation. Vera glared at me. I could see how prepared she was to bring me out of here, into her mother's hands for all kinds of humiliation. " Gilda was at our house. She got there and caused a lot of trouble. She pushed my mother down the stairs, and right now, her legs are not able to carry her," she said. It was funny, how can she say that? I was only trying to defend myself. Besides, her fall was light, and nothing was wrong with her. " How much do you need for her medications and medical bills?" Japheth asked. I knew this was also what she came for. Her eyes lit up with so much excitement. " The hospital is asking for a lot of money, and we do not have it," she said. " Then let my assistant know how much you will need, get it from him and do not disturb this place. The next time you do it, I'll have to get you arrested," he said, his face meant every word that he just said " Thank you, I will stay away, but there is something you must know," she said, looking at me. I had to look away. " What's that?" Japheth asked her. She leaned closer to him. " I think you made a mistake employing Gilda. She has been in a lot of scandals and causes a lot of trouble. You are only going to get into more trouble if you keep her here. You have to let her go," she said. She kept a straight face like what she had said made a lot of sense. Japheth was quiet for a while, and that scared the s**t out of me. Was he going to listen to all she had said and throw me out of the house? If he throws me out of the house, I do not have a place to stay. He'd better not listen to all the nonsense she just said. My heart began to beat so fast. My hands were sweaty as well. " I am sure I can handle her; you do not have to worry about me," he said. It was short. I let out a smile. " Are you being serious right now? You are going to regret your decision," she said. She was trying so hard to push Japheth to get me thrown out. " Leave here. I do not want to see you here. Why are you such a nuisance?" His irritation was very visible. He ordered the guards at the door to take Vera out of the house. She was dragged out of the house like the criminal she was. I breathe out in relief. That was fast. But was I completely saved from Japheth? He turned around and faced me. " I hope your troubles are reduced. I do not want to further get involved with anything like this," he said. I felt ashamed, even though all of the troubles coming my way aren't even my fault. I watched as he rolled his wheelchair and left the room. Angel followed him. The whispers were all over the house; the maids talked about me, and they said all kinds of things among themselves. There was no one to speak to; they all avoided me, but I think it was for the best. It was to avoid trouble with any of them, and it worked for me. " You should speak to them. You can not continue to be left alone all day; there are people in the house, and you should talk to them," Eve said. It made no sense; she was in the exact position she was in. She does not speak to anyone. Why does it bother her that I do not speak to any of the other maids? " But you have stayed that way until I came, do you regret it?" I asked her. She shook her head negatively. " It's not my fault that something like that happened to me. It is not my fault," she said. She was getting me confused, and it made no sense. " Maybe she can decide to come for you as well. She can decide to hold you down as well. You have to avoid Jane, but you can speak to the other ones, you can find your way around them," she said. Jane, right? " Fine, I get you," I said. She held the little napkin she used in cleaning the table; she kept looking at it, like it held so many memories for her. " The seeds, I knew about it, I saw her. I did. I watched all of it, but I could not tell you not to use it, because she holds something against me," She said. I let out a frown. She knew about it all along? " Is this about the video, where you tried to push Angel down the stairs?" " She has more than that," Eve said. I swallowed. This was all above me, and I was never going to get involved with anything that had to do with them. I got to the other side of the house and just decided to clear my head. I felt like I was in a tight corner, and I was walking on eggshells. I have to be very careful with the things I do here so I am not recorded. I felt a hand on my shoulder; it was a small invitation card handed to me by one of the maids. I took it from her with my hands shaking. I was scared to open it, what if it was some dangerous thing or something against me, just as Jane had something against Eve.
