Atarah Klyte As I open my eyes, my body feels numb. I don't feel anything except the pain in my head. I look around and notice more tubes attached to my body. I want to sit up in bed but I can't because of the tubes attached to me. I struggle to move, feeling as if my whole body is wrapped in tape. Tears fall because of what's happening. Is my condition really that bad that more devices like these are needed? I close my eyes tightly, then open them again and survey the room. I'm back in isolation, alone with the medical equipment. "My b-ba-baby..." I stutter to myself because speaking is really difficult. I remember before I lost consciousness, I was bleeding. What happened?! My baby. Slowly, I raise my hand and place it on my stomach, slipping it inside and gently caressing it.
