Chapter 06

Grey's POV "So you tried to remove the stone from her body forcefully?" my dad asked me. I nodded, "yeah." "But I failed. Somehow the damn stone suddenly went back into her body." I said in frustration. Dad looked at me silently. I could sense that he was as confused as I was. "Then, how to get the stone?" my dad asked me back. I had asked him the same question earlier. I shrugged my shoulders, signaling that I really had no idea how to get that precious stone out of Elena's body. My family and I desperately needed that stone so that we, or rather I, could become the strongest. "Did you ask the elder if there was another way to get the stone from Elena?" "The elders said the stone can only be removed if the owner willingly gives it up," I explained, annoyed by his lack of understanding. "Well then, what about your her?" dad asked. "Would she have voluntarily given up something so important to our family?" he asked. He thought for a few seconds and then added, "or did she not even know if the stone was in her body?" "Yeah, you're right, dad. she didn't know about it. She didn't know that inside her, there was a magic stone hidden." Dad sighed. "And the only way is to make her love me or make myself pretend to love her so that she will give the stone willingly. You know, dad, when it comes to love, mating, it's not my thing. I have to do this for you guys, for my family. I don't want our bloodline to be cut off." "Don't pretend, son. I know that you want to be the strongest of the strong. So don't brag that you're only doing this for us." I smiled slightly. Even though we hadn't seen each other for a long time, dad seemed to know my character very well. After all, he was the one who raised me and taught me all that he knows about the life of a man. If he says that I'm strong...then I'll prove it. "Okay, Dad. but promise me one thing…" I hesitated for a second, looking down at my feet as I spoke. "What is it, Son?" dad asked with curiosity. "If I fail….you'll help me find a way to get the stone out of Elena, right?" He looked thoughtful. He wanted to help me, but he couldn't possibly agree if I asked him to risk his own life. "Of course, Son," he finally said. "But if she's willing to sacrifice herself, you won't hesitate to follow through." I let out a sigh of relief. "I better go now. Thanks, Dad." I said before leaving for home. "Don't worry, Son. You'll find a way." he smiled. Yes, I will. I Said to myself. From now on, I have to be nice to that girl. And I have to make her believe I want and love her. Damn! It looks like I have to ask Maxime to teach me. That guy is really good with women. I'm sure I could learn some great things from him. I never thought I'd need to discover the magic to impress a woman. It would actually be more fun to get into a war with rogues than to learn about love. Sickening. *** I immediately took Elena back to my mansion. After my business was over. My dad and I had reached an agreement that had become my responsibility for executing the plan smoothly. "Bran, please make a quick stop at that pizza restaurant," I said while pointing at the franchise restaurant. "Do you like pizza?" I asked Elena, who seemed to be more silent than before. "Yes, I do." The girl seemed even quieter. I don't know why. "Are you okay?" I asked again. Elena nodded, "yes, so what?" "I don't know. You look weird when you're quiet like this." "Weren't you the one who told me not to talk too much?" Elena said. I thought for a moment I was the one who told her not to talk too much. But why was I the one who asked her why she was silent? Because of that damn stone problem, I was starting to lose my mind. I have to get that stone out of Elena's body quickly. "We can continue the conversation later," I said before entering the restaurant. Once we were inside, I ordered two medium pizzas, a salad, and a large Coke. Once everything came and paid for. Bran then walked the car out of the parking lot. "Elena, I'm sorry that I starved you. I'm just worried that if we stay too long at my parent's house, then-" Before I could continue, Elena interrupted me quickly. "You're afraid my face will get ugly again, right?" I nodded reluctantly. My instincts were right. I should learn how to win a woman's heart from Maxime. That Alpha wolf of the Xirius family is very good at conquering women's hearts. Elena scowled. I could tell she was deeply offended by what I had just said. But that's not what I meant. I didn't mind her face or the burns. But I didn't want my stepmother to use this opportunity to belittle me. "That's not what I meant," I said, but she didn't care. Women are always troublesome, with their highly changeable moods. She grabbed her food without saying anything. The car started leaving the parking spot. I looked out of the window, thinking about how stupid this plan sounded in hindsight. I've got to make this work. Not long after, we arrived in front of my mansion. Elena walked straight out without waiting for me. I could only let her go out and return to her room. I didn't want to disturb her. After all, I wasn't planning to spend tonight seducing her. She was still a virgin. The thought brought shame in me. I should make her lose her innocence in the most beautiful way possible. And made her fall in love with me.
