Ninth Rejection

ELENA'S POV "Elena Noir Lorelley!" Cazena called my name. As she spoke, her voice echoed throughout the whole wedding hall. No one else dared to raise their voice because she was the elder— an immortal alpha who the moon goddess blessed. "Please come over," Cazena smiled. I got up from my seat and started walking through the dozens of pack members who were gathered in the wedding hall. I dressed down my appearance by wearing a hoodie. I didn't want anyone to see my hideous face. I could only imagine what they must be thinking. How do I look? How can someone as ugly and weak as myself mate good-looking prince alpha? I looked down at the ground, trying to block out all my negative thoughts. I stepped up to the aisle that held the couple from our pack and bowed. “You may rise,” said Cazena. The wedding hall was silent, and everyone was waiting for an announcement of the mating ceremony. "Today, our beloved prince, alpha Adoff James Blevine, will be mated with one alpha princess from Moonroses pack, Elena," Cazena said in an assertive tone. She turned around and nodded toward me, “Will you come here, please.” I nodded and walked over to the altar, my heart beating faster with every step that led me closer to the mating ceremony. Cazena looked at Adoff and asked him to come forward too. From underneath the shabby brown hoodie I was wearing, I looked over the face of my future mate. His blue eyes were as clear as a mountain stream. He was a male model and adored by a lot of she-wolves. He was very handsome. His hair was as black as the night sky. He was tall with lethal charmed. Adoff stood in front of me. He lowered his head and looked at me, and raised his brow. "Why are you wearing a hoodie?" I gasped when I heard his deep, husky voice. "Take off your hoodie!" he ordered in a cold, intimidating tone. "No," I whispered in shock. "It's so ugly. Take it off,” he growled and grabbed my chin. He forced me to look at him. His fingers wrapped painfully around my jaw. "You're hideous." With those last words, he pushed me onto my knees and pulled off my hoodie. All the pack members present screamed in shock at the sight of my hideous face. The burn marks were so apparent that half of my face seemed to have melted away. "Do you really think I would want to be the mate of this disgusting wolf?!" he said with a devilish smile. "Now, listen to me carefully!" Adoff got up and looked at the dozens of pack members "I, Alpha Adoff James Blevine, reject you as my mate and Luna Dazzlefur Growler pack, Elena Noir Lorelley." Adoff said in a clear, cold, and straightforward voice. I swallowed the bitterness and my tears. I didn't want to show them my flaws. Anyway, this wasn't the first time the prince alpha had rejected me. This was the ninth rejection. "I, Elena Noir Lorelley, accept your rejection as your mate and Luna of the Dazzlefur Growler pack. I wish the best for you." I was no longer surprised, but still, this was so humiliating that it made me hate myself and my ugly face even more. I rose from my kneel, smiling at all the pack members present. Bowing my body, and walked away from the mating ceremony. "I knew this would happen," Darla muttered. "There's no way Adoff would want to be with Elena. How could any man want to be with a girl with a disfigured face? Just looking at her makes me sick to my stomach!" I could hear Darla's voice sounding so loud and clear. I could also see how she laughed after saying her words. *** My name is Elena Noir Lorelley, and this is my story. I am the only daughter of alpha Jacob Lorelley and Luna Zaffe Lorelley. They were the leaders of the Moonroses Rolf pack. Both my parents were respected alphas in the Whiterivers. However, everything changed when a group of Rogues attacked and burned down our house pack. My parents died in the incident, but Clara, an omega who had worked for my family for a long time, saved me. If I had known my fate would be this sad, I would have preferred to die with my parents. Without them, I was nothing. I was weak and useless. Even though I was supposed to be the princess, my only job in this pack was as a servant to Alpha Radolf Zeke Fillan and his family. He was my father's best friend who took over the pack after his demise. Radolf has three children. Darla, Thessalia, and Valkof. The three of them constantly bullied me and treated me as they pleased. *** "Hey ugly, get me some food! Hurry up and bring it to my room, now!" ordered Darla while looking at me with a condescending gaze. I could only nod slowly and obey her orders. "I'll do it," Clara said, stopping me in my ways. "No, Clara, don't. I don't want them to scold you." "They were very mean to you, Elena. I wish they knew they would be nothing if it weren't for your father's help," Clara growled. I listened to Clara's words in silence. This was indeed painful. I should have been the one in that room. I should have been the future leader of this pack. But that doesn't seem possible. This pack no longer wanted my presence. Several times I overheard the pack member's conversations stating that I was the one who brought bad luck and was the cause of my parent's death. They said the burnt half of my face was a curse for their pack. All the unfortunate events that happened were because of me, being alive. Several times I thought of leaving the pack. But Clara has always stopped me. She wanted me to stay here until I found my alpha. But when will that moment come? *** After picking some grapes and pouring the orange juice for Darla, I went to the top floor. I swung my legs towards the room that used to be my room. Knock knock. "Come in!" I pushed open the wooden door. All three pairs of their eyes looked at me while raising fake smiles at me. "Put the fruit on the table!" pleaded Darla, pointing to one of the tables in the corner of the room. Valkof took a few steps closer to me. "Why do you cover your monster face with your hair? Hey, I want to see it!" he said while squinting at me. Valkof tried to reveal my face. I kept my head down and tried to hide my monstrous face, and walked away from him. "Hey, I said I want to see your hideous look!" Valkof roared. I was only a few steps away from the table. But... Bugh!!! Valkof deliberately tripped me with his feet. All the things on the tray I was carrying fell and spilled on the rug. "Valkof! What are you doing?" Thessalia yelled at her older brother. The girl with emerald-colored eyes immediately ran to help me. "Stop it, Thessa! Don't touch that monster! Aren't you disgusted by what it looks like?!" shrieked Darla, preventing her sister. "Why are you such a moron, huh?! You are an i***t! Useless! You've soiled my expensive rug!" Darla screamed at me. The golden-haired girl with sharp eyes approached me and immediately pushed my body hard. I fell again, even though I had just gotten up and had not fully regained my balance. "Hurry up and clean it up! Now! I don't want to know how, but I want this rug clean again!" Darla screeched back at me mercilessly. In a harsh and painful voice. I nodded obediently, quickly running out of the room to get the tools to clean the rug. When I was outside Darla's room, my ears could still catch the sound of joyful laughter coming from their mouths. Yes, they were laughing at me. They must have been so happy to see me in trouble. I knew they wouldn't stop treating me like this until I left the pack.
