I didn't care if it was what I was supposed to be doing but I needed to go home as soon as possible.
The heck!
I don't think I can survive it...
You might say I give up too easily, I don't have the intention of explaining myself. I made sure no one was watching and of course I'm not supposed to care about that because I'm best in sneaking out without being caught by anyone.
"Lady Rieka?" Someone called out to me and I turned around to see a tall stud standing and looking down at me.
"What's those eyes for?" I asked him angrily.
He had to swallow the non-existing lump that appeared in his throat. "Nothing Lady Rieka, I just wanted to k—"
He was still talking and it was infuriating me. Why would a guard be the one to restrict my movement.
How absurd!
"You can as well go back to your duties because I'm fine as you can see. I'm taking a stroll on my first day to be a bride and you're adding to the headache that want stop banging my head." I enunciated and he scurried away in fright.
Turns out he's a scaredy cat.
I could naturally pass through the main gate and run back to our pack because most of this pack members aren't yet familiar with who their Luna is.
Blending in naturally with other pack members wasn't much of a hassle and in few minutes, I was already out...on the other side of the wall and stared ahead to the long journey that awaited me by foot.
Walking slowly into the woods, down the path that would lead me to my pack; I shifted into my wolf form.
Running as fast as I can, I couldn't quite believe that the way woul be this far.
Perhaps riding on a chariot made me unable to realize how far the two packs were, I was already out of breath but I couldn't stop running.
Heck, I was in the jungles and if I didnt keep going
..I could probably be offering myself as meal to some hungry rouges out here.
My vision was already getting blurry, the forest was swirling when I finally caught sight of my home.
I'm quite lucky I didn't get lost because I wasn't totally sure that I was going in the right direction at first.
Turning to the gate, everyone passing by stared but not because they recognized my wolf or anything, it was only because it was weird to see anyone taking their sprint in their wolf form in the streets.
Getting to my parents house, I went into the house in my wolf form and my dad who was sitting in the living room sprang up.
"Rieka!! What are you doing here?" He growled staring at me with uncertainty in his eyes.
I just stared at her wondering when it became a taboo to come back home. It was supposed to be my safe space right?
I walked into my room and fortunately the door was open though it didnt feel like my room any longer because none of my things was in it any longer; I then shifted back into my human form and luckily I found a short denim jean skirt and a black round necked top.
I put them on and mentally preparing myself for my fathers scolding, I reentered the sitting room to face him.
"Father!" I called from the door across and he swiveled staring at me with fear but the reason eluded me.
"Why are you here?" He questioned and I bored my head in shame. I know its a bit unreasonable and yes..some people might even say I'm childish but I'm home sick.
"Can you please explain why you married me off to that man? I promise that I won't leave the pack if you don't give me a coherent excuse." I challenged sitting on the armchair as I crossed my like. I was seating like a princess!
"Rieka, you don't have to know." He stood up as his voice became clouded with emotions.
"And now I'm sure that I have to know!" I vehemently replied and placed myself between the door
"Fine! Your mum is sick, she's dying and it anything happens to us -because for a fact you know that if anything happens to her, it happens to me; you'd be the next heir to our wealth. The Alpha of all Alpha's caught interest in you for his son and promised us that his son is good. We need someone trustworthy that can hep you manage our wealth." He explained sniffling and it was then realization dawned on me.
If they didn't accept the Alpha kings proposal and anything happened to my mum, I would have been mentally deranged.
Now I guess they've justified themselves and I have to cooperate as well.
"I'd leave by the break of dawn tomorrow." I said and dad cane over to hold my shoulders.
"Does the Alpha king know that you left?" dad questioned ad I swiveled my head in negativity and his brows furrowed.
"How about your husband?" He inquired and I replied in the negative.
"You have to return now!” Dad yelled and I understood why he was so scared.
I was more certain of the routes now, holding my clothes with my fangs i sprinted back to the pack central.
It was already dark by the time I got into the pack but I hoped that no one would notice since I had a room to myself. Somehow, I managed to get in unnoticed and I thanked my stars. My back ached from the long run and distance I had to undergo today.
Just as I twisted the door knob and stepped in...a voice came from inside.
"Where are you coming from?"
It was none else than the obnoxious and sarcastic husband that I had been stringed to.
"What kind of question is that? I just took a stroll." I said trying to look cool, hoping that my expression doesn't betray.
"You weren't in the pack, I watched you leave." He growled and approached me with calculated steps.
For the first time in life, I felt scared of this man.
"Cool off Wolfy, she went for a run with me."
