Dreadful truth

Princess Elara's POV
I woke up shivering and for a few seconds, I couldn't remember where I was. My head throbbed violently, and my body felt heavy, almost as though someone had dropped a mountain on top of me.
I tried to move but pain shot through my wrists. I gasped and looked down. My wrists were tied tightly behind the chair, the rough material digging into my skin. My ankles were bound too, leaving me almost completely helpless.
I looked across the room and saw Jacob.He was holding the end of another rope loosely in one hand, watching me with an expression I had never seen on his face before. The moment his eyes met mine, a slow smile spread across his face.
“Finally awake, Daddy's little girl.”
My stomach twisted.
“Jacob…” My voice came out weak.
He chuckled.
“Did you have a nice rest?”
I stared at him in confusion.
“What… what happened?”
He leaned back in his chair.
“We had such a long search while you were unconscious. Unfortunately, you weren't awake to participate.”
I swallowed hard, “What are you talking about?”
Jacob's smile disappeared,“The property papers.”
I frowned. “What property papers?”
His fingers tightened around the rope making it dig into my skin.
“The most important things.”
“I don't understand.” I said, confused.
“You took the diamonds.” His voice was becoming colder. “But you didn't take the property papers.”
My heart began racing.
“Jacob, I don't know what you're talking about.”
He stood abruptly.
“The papers, Elara!”
I flinched.
“I told you, I don't know…” I said but he cut me off before I could finish.
“Where are they?”
“I didn't take them!” I answered.
His face twisted with anger.
“I didn't have time!” I cried. “Everything happened so quickly. I barely had time to think. I didn't even go into my father's room and honestly,” I whispered, “after everything that happened, I'm glad I didn't take them.”
I hadn't realized how deep my words were until it came out from my mouth and I regretted instantly.Jacob walked toward me.
I watched him carefully.
“Jacob, please.”
He stopped directly in front of me.
“Why are you doing this?” I whispered.
He didn't answer.
“Jacob…”
My voice cracked.
“We were in love.”
He smirked.
I felt something inside me break.
“You loved me,” I continued desperately. “You told me you loved me. You promised me you would never hurt me.”
Jacob tilted his head and then he laughed,“You really believed that?”
Tears filled my eyes, “What?”
He crouched in front of me. I instinctively moved backward, but the ropes stopped me.
“Do you know what your problem is, Elara?”
I shook my head.
“You're too trusting.”
His fingers reached toward my face. I flinched and he grabbed my chin instead.
“Your father warned you.”
My breathing stopped.
“Alpha Gregory told you exactly who I was.”
I stared at him.
“You…”
“He told you I didn't love you, he told you I hated you,He begged you to stay away from me.”
“Stop.” I whispered.
But he continued. “He told you that I only pretended to love you.”
“Stop!”
“He told you that I wanted to destroy your family.”
I could barely breathe.
“That's not true.”
“It is.”
Jacob stood.
“You just refused to listen.”
Tears rolled down my cheeks.
“I loved you.”
“And that was exactly what I needed.”
I stared at him.
“What?”
“You made everything so easy.”
He began pacing slowly.
“Your father loved you more than anything in this world. Everyone knew it. You were his weakness.”
I felt my chest tighten as my heart began to race.
“What does my father have to do with this?” I asked.
“Your father destroyed my family.” He answered.
“What?”
“My family.”
He pointed at me.
“Your father was responsible for their deaths.”
I shook my head, “No. My father would never…”
“He did.”
“You're lying!” I screamed at him.
“Am I?”
His voice echoed through the room.
“Your father took everything from us. Our home. Our future. Our family.” He stepped closer.“And I swore I would make him pay.”
My lips trembled.
“So you…” He smiled bitterly. “I came into your life because I knew your father loved you. I made you trust me. I made you love me. I made you choose me over your own family. Do you know why?”
I opened my eyes, “Why?”
“Because I wanted your father to suffer and guess what? He's suffering right now. Imagine his only child, the apple of his eyes ran away from her own room to be with a man.” He smiled.
My heart shattered. I had spent so much time believing Jacob loved me and would do anything for me forgetting how my father would react when he found out that I had run away with an ordinary officer.
“If you hated my father so much, why did you have to hurt me?” I questioned.
Jacob's expression didn't change, “Because you are his daughter.”
“I didn't do anything to you!” I fired back.
“You don't have to.” His eyes were filled with hatred. “You carry his blood.”
I shook my head,“Jacob, please. Whatever happened between our families, I had nothing to do with it.”
“That's too late, Princess Elara.” He said as he walked toward a nearby table and picked up a knife. I didn't know why but I began struggling against the ropes.
“Jacob please, what are you trying to do?” I asked.
“Kill you, Elara. Just taking you from your father isn't enough revenge. I will kill you and send your corpse to your father.” He answered with a smirk.
“No…Jacob…that will hurt him.”
He turned toward me, “It won't, already the pack members would be gossiping about your disappearance. Killing you will be the icing and we both know your father won't survive. He might survive humiliation but not your death.”
“Please.” I begged, I really wish I had listened to my father. Was his crime loving me?
“I loved you,” I whispered. “If any part of what we had was real, please don't do this.”
Jacob stared at me for a long moment. Then he smiled.
“That was your mistake because it was never real. You have seen my wedding with the love of my life, you were just a tool.”
He walked toward me.
I shook my head.
“No.”
I pulled desperately against the ropes.
“Jacob, please!”
He raised the knife and without thinking stabbed me three times continuously in my heart.
I gasped, my eyes blurry as I said…
