Epi. 14 - The most handsome guy in the class

1129 Words
Jenny glanced around and found the campus deserted, not a soul in sight. Assuming everyone must be in class, she turned to Alex and said, "Well, I won't keep you from your class. I'll go find the principal to register, and we can hang out later when you're free. Bye!" With that, she bounced off towards the administrative building. Alex watched her retreating figure and pondered for a moment. "She's heading to the principal's office for transfer registration? That suggests her background is quite extraordinary. Normally, one would go to the administration office, or even skip the registration altogether. But since we'll likely have more interaction in the future, I won't delve further," he thought as he made his way to his own class. Meanwhile, in the principal's office, Jenny met with the principal, who greeted her warmly. As soon as she entered, he offered her a drink and asked if she wanted some fruit. Lounging on the sofa with her legs crossed, she waited for a while until a stern-looking woman entered the room wearing black-framed glasses. "Principal, may I ask why you summoned me?" the female teacher respectfully knocked and entered. The principal immediately adopted a formal tone and introduced her, "This is our new transfer student, Jenny. Jenny was previously studying at a prestigious university in England, and her academic performance was outstanding. So, I've directly arranged her into the Honor class. Take her to the class and make sure she settles in. She's one of our school's key talents now, understood?" The implication in the principal's words wasn't lost on the female teacher. She nodded in understanding and escorted Jenny out. The principal personally saw them off at the door. Soon, Jenny followed the female teacher to the classroom door. Looking at the sign, she exclaimed, "Honor program? But wasn't I supposed to be in my second year?" Ms. Wei explained, "Jenny, since you were in your first year in England, the principal has placed you in the first year here. Also, the study progress differs between the two countries, so it's good to go through the compulsory courses again." "Alright then..." Jenny considered her academic performance. She wasn't too insistent since she had originally come back to China with a casual attitude towards studies. After all, she would eventually return to England. Ms. Wei led her into the classroom and addressed the students, "This is our new transfer student, Jenny. Let's give her a round of applause and allow her to introduce herself." Standing beside the podium, Jenny smiled brightly at everyone. "Hello, everyone! I'm Jenny. I identify as female, but my orientation leans towards male. Nice to meet you all!" Upon hearing her introduction, the students laughed, and many began to whisper to each other. "This girl is so cute!" "Yeah, she's really pretty, like a doll. Who would've thought she'd be such a beauty? Our class flower's position is in jeopardy." "What's Angel compared to her? Not even half as beautiful as this girl. Her name is Jenny, such a cute name. If she sits next to me, I'll be the happiest person alive." For a moment, the boys in the class started clamoring, all vying for Jenny to sit beside them. Jenny looked around with a smile, scanning the room to see if there were any handsome boys. Of course, she intended to choose to sit next to a handsome one; at the very least, it would be visually pleasing. Possibly owing to the university's reputation, with just one glance, Jenny spotted a few guys who were quite handsome. However, having just met Eso, she found them lacking in comparison. The teacher said, "Jenny, who would you like to sit with? Anyone willing is fine." As soon as the teacher said this, the boys in the room became excited. Each one eagerly approached Jenny. "Jenny! Sit with me, I'll buy you breakfast every day, okay?" "Jenny, I have good grades. Sit with me, and I'll help you with your studies. I'll even buy you snacks every day." "Hey, beauty, sit with me. I can be your slave, at your beck and call!" This comment earned him hisses from the others. Jenny found them all amusing but wasn't swayed. She thought for a moment and asked, "Who's the most handsome guy in our class?" To her surprise, everyone paused at her question, then collectively looked at a certain spot, their expressions somewhat peculiar. Jenny couldn't be bothered with their expressions. Following their gazes, she looked over and saw the two empty seats at the back by the window. Wasn't the most handsome guy absent today? Of course, Jenny wanted to sit next to the most handsome guy, so she smiled and walked over, taking a seat in the empty spot. She then told the teacher, "I'll sit here, thanks." The teacher's expression was also odd as she awkwardly said, "Feel free to sit there..." She tapped the podium with a stick to quiet the students. "Alright, remember to take care of the new student and foster unity and friendship. Got it? Let's continue with the lesson." After she left, the teacher returned to her position and resumed teaching. But at this point, who had the mind to focus on the lesson? The boys were sneaking glances at Jenny, while the girls were sizing her up and making comparisons. The boy in the front turned around with a friendly smile and said, "Jenny, I guess you haven't got textbooks yet. Here, you can borrow mine." With that, he placed a tattered textbook in front of Jenny. Jenny looked at the dirty cover, unsure what it had been through, and hesitated to touch it. She chuckled awkwardly and said, "It's alright, you keep it... I'll just listen." "It's okay, I'll share with my desk mate." Jenny: "..." The classmate meant well, and she didn't want to embarrass him, so she just smiled awkwardly. This class was a writing lesson. While Jenny couldn't speak for other subjects, she was definitely good at writing. After all, she had studied in England for several years, and literary knowledge had been cultivated since childhood. So, she found it terribly boring... It felt like being in primary school again, utterly dull. She yawned. The boy in front leaned in again, "Jenny, do you not understand either? We could chat instead." Not understand? She did, but the lesson was just too dull, so she didn't want to listen. But this boy, couldn't he understand such simple concepts? Jenny couldn't help feeling disdainful and curious. She thought Honor specialization should be the best class. She asked the boy, "What's Honor? Is it the worst class? How does it differ from a regular specialization?" "No way! Our Honor specialization is the best!"
