My phone alarm sounds somewhere across the room and I sit up trying to figure out where the sound is coming from.
I see my bag on Ben's desk and get off the bed, tangling my legs up there. I have the impression that I have barely closed my eyes for five minutes and it is already morning. But I had to think about how I would feel before I asked Ben to keep me company in the shower.
I take my phone out of my bag and turn off the alarm, then I see an exaggerated number of messages from David. I open the messages and read a few, being curious as to what he could have written in so many messages.
David: My mother is trying to calm your mother down.
David: I think something bad is going to happen.
David: Your mother is coming to you. Take care.
I drop the phone from my hand
