Chapter 60
The damage to the Wanderer was worse than Jess had first thought. Sal’s knowledge of the ship had allowed the Taint’s attack to inflict targeted damage at weak points. Jess and the Wanderer worked hard to prioritise repairs where they could do the most good in the shortest time, but most of the repairs were going to take a lot longer.
Once that was complete Jess sat back and considered the situation. He felt like kicking himself. He’d grown so used to Vorn’s fleet being able to track the Wanderer wherever it went that he’d decided to head straight for his destination. Vorn was gone, though. Parts of Vorn’s fleet were now controlled by the Taint, but would any of those ships be able to follow the Wanderer?
