He deliberately emphasized the word "service," a hint of mockery in his eyes, making it hard not to overthink. Natalie instinctively tensed up.
She hung her head, fearing the man would recognize her, yet she couldn't neglect a guest. She gritted her teeth and said, "I'm indeed nervous, because being too relaxed with a client like you would be disrespectful."
Adrian half-closed the menu, slightly raising his eyes, from this angle, he could only see the top of her furry head.
He stared at her seriously for a moment, then suddenly chuckled lightly.
Afraid of being recognized yet having to cater to this "big client," it was truly hard for her.
Two years had passed, and even though she had become a senior manager at the hotel, she was still this cute. Smart and quick-witted, yet he could see through her at a glance.
He suddenly wanted to tease her, lazily asking, "Do I look scary?"
Natalie immediately felt her scalp tingle, shaking her head hurriedly, "You're joking, sir, you're not scary at all."
Seeing her obviously insincere manner, Adrian nodded seemingly believingly, raising the menu just enough to hide his upturned mouth.
The room fell silent again. After a while, seeing his attention was still on the menu, Natalie cautiously lifted her head.
Her neck was sore from hanging it down for so long.
She stealthily glanced at the man while discreetly moving her neck to relax it.
Just as she moved it twice, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Natalie's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly bowed her head again.
"Come in." Adrian put down the menu and looked towards the door.
Assistant Bennett walked straight in, presenting an invitation with both hands, "Mr. Collins, Old Master Gregory heard you returned to the country and specially arranged a welcome banquet tonight, starting in an hour."
Adrian stared at the large "G" on the invitation but didn't take it.
With a look, Assistant Bennett immediately said, "Rest assured, sir, I've screened the guest list, they are all trustworthy families."
Since going abroad for development two years ago, Adrian's schedule had become increasingly low-key. Occasionally attending banquets and meetings, he adhered to three principles—no speeches, no photos, no interviews.
As a result, many people wanted to host banquets for him but had no idea of his whereabouts.
The Gregory Family and the Collins Family had always been on good terms; he couldn't ignore Old Master Gregory's gesture.
Moreover, the main guest of the banquet was him, sending the invitation only an hour before the event, clearly leaving him no room to decline.
Adrian straightened his collar and stood up leisurely, "Prepare the car, let's go."
Natalie, standing nearby, felt a small joy hearing he planned to attend the banquet.
Him attending the banquet tonight meant he wouldn't be dining at the hotel, so she wouldn't have to serve him.
Finally, a temporary escape from him!
Just before leaving, Adrian sensed something was off, paused, and glanced sideways at Natalie.
Seeing her quietly rejoicing, he pressed his thin lips together, hesitated, and then turned to leave.
Natalie didn't notice his subtle action. As soon as he left the suite, she clocked out.
If it weren't for this ruthless capitalist, Natalie would have clocked out an hour earlier.
Back home, tidying up a bit, she was just about to go to bed early when her phone suddenly rang, vibrating intensely like an urgent alarm.
Irritated, she rubbed her face, forcing herself to stay awake, and grabbed her phone to answer.
"Manager Blake, please go to the Hyatt Palace Club immediately," Assistant Bennett commanded directly.
His tone was urgent, as if announcing a life-or-death matter.
Natalie's emotions were stirred. She asked while getting out of bed, "Has something happened?"
"If you don't want to offend the Collins Family, don't ask too many questions," Assistant Bennett's tone became stern, pushing her to act quickly, "This matter is crucial, get there as soon as possible."
He spoke mysteriously. To keep her job, Natalie had no choice but to get ready and head out.
Natalie arrived at the Hyatt Palace Club in a daze, only to be stopped at the door by security.
