Friends !!

Rose I was tossing and turning in the bed, struggling in the hopes that my dear sleep would show its presence, but it didn't and instead, the thought kept invading my mind of how good my name sounded falling from his lips. The feel of his hands on my body was not only electrifying but soothing as well. I shook my head and with a huff, I sat up, shrugged on a robe, and went to my balcony. The night's view was amazing. Silence, twinkling of stars, sparkling moon as if it was showing off how beautiful it is, and the cold breeze teasing my skin and my hair was flowing around me. I rested my hands on the railing, feeling the cold iron on my warm skin, and I looked around. Nobody was below except the patrolling teams. From here I could even smell the sweet scent of the flowers. Suddenly I heard a rustle in the bushes. I squinted my eyes to try and see clearly but couldn't. Thinking it must be a guard, I let it go. But then I saw something moving. I tilted my head to see better, and I saw him. The brown orbs. It was just for a matter of seconds, and then he was gone. What the hell?? Was he really here? Or was it my imagination? He can't be here. This is the territory of the biggest pack in America, even packs from different countries are also afraid of that psycho. Nobody would dare to step into this land without his permission. I looked again in that particular direction but when I found nothing, I shrugged thinking maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me. I spent some time there, clearing my mind and when my eyes became heavy, I came back to my room and drifted off into a deep slumber. Past I was in the backyard of the pack house, sitting on the bench quietly, watching nothing in particular, just the horizon, as my mind replayed the memories that I shared with my family. A lone tear escaped from my eyes. My lips quivered thinking about the fact that a few days ago I had a family, and now I have no one. No one to call mine. Why did it happen to me? Why God , why??? Dad, I am all alone in this weird place where people change into animals. Please come back. I looked to my right when I heard some noises. There was a group of children, probably about my age, and they were playing. I turned back around, but somebody pushed me to the ground. When I looked up everyone was laughing at me. More tears filled my eyes as my dress was ruined by the dirt. “Why is she here? She is not even a werewolf” one of the boys said with scorn all over his face. “She is parentless. She is an orphan” A girl amused and all of them started laughing. All of them started calling me names. More tears rolled down my cheeks. I don't want to be here. I want my mama, and my daddy. “Why is she the favorite of Sir Beta? Let's make her dirtier, so she'll stink and Sir Beta will not let her come near him.” “Yea,” they all said in unison and started throwing mud on my dress, hair, even on my face. “Please... Stop... No. It hurts. Please, No” I cried and pleaded with them to stop and I tried my best to fight but it's all in vain because there were so many of them. I was crying when suddenly, a voice came from behind me. “What are you all doing?” everybody stopped. “We are making her dirty. Come on join us” one of the boys said with excitement. When I looked back, it was a girl with hazel eyes and a pale complexion. Looking so good with her hair in pigtails. “Shut up and don't hurt her. Otherwise, I will tell Sir beta what you did to her” She is taking my side? Wow. Who is she? “Why do you care? She is not one of us” The boy chided. “So what? My Daddy says it doesn't matter what they are, what matters is how they behave. Now stop treating her badly. You know Sir Beta will become so angry if he finds out about this. Go away” my savior threatened them. “This ain't over” the boy spat through gritted teeth and all of them left. The girl helped me to stand up and helped remove dirt from my face and arms. “Thank you” I gave her an appreciative smile. “No problem. My name is Amanda. Hi!”. The girl introduced herself with a smile. I smiled and said “Hey, I am Rose” “You know if anyone threatens you. Just tell me. I will help you. Always” “Really?” My eyes widened. Does she want to become my friend? My first friend here!! She nodded. “Then, friends?” Extending my hand for her to shake. Somehow, I still didn't believe her but then she said... “Friends” she slapped my hand away and hugged me. "Friends hug each other " she added and we both snickered. Present "1.2.3.1.2...3...1.2.3" The loud voice of trainer floated around us. Right now, I am at the training grounds. As our 'beloved Alpha' ordered everyone to start training from today and not in a week's time. I don't know why people say stuff when they aren't sure about it and can't follow through. 'Yeah, as if you were listening to me'. My subconscious taunted me. See!! My mind is also not my own now. We are all practicing. Well, not me because after 30 minutes of exercise I was practically struggling to move my arms and legs but our trainer understood and asked me to relax a little. So, now I am sitting on one of the empty benches and watching my classmates practicing. They are wolves and so their stamina is far better than mine. While watching everyone, I couldn't help but look at the person who was once my friend and recall the memories associated with her. I blinked a few times, so the hot tears behind my eyes remained there. My mind consoled my heart that I don't need her and I have my friends but somewhere in my heart the guilt and emptiness still reside as constant companions. “Okay, students, that's enough for today. We'll meet tomorrow at the same time. Class dismissed. And Rose it's fine. It happens on the first day. You will gradually improve. Don't worry” Our Trainer, probably in his forties with great physique and a full beard encouraged me with a consoling smile. I slightly nodded and muttered thank you to him. Just as he left, Sonia snickered and said way too loud, so that everybody could hear her. “Yeah, she'll probably manage to last one more minute.” And everybody started laughing. I just ignored her comment and came to our locker room. It's not my fault that I am human and neither did they do something extraordinary to be born as a werewolf. I am not going to let them affect me. **************************************** I was attending my third lecture and Lake was sitting right beside me. I only share one class with her. Otherwise, all my friends are in different classes. Mr. Johnson, our economics teacher, was explaining the law of consumer equilibrium, when suddenly he became quiet. He was looking up at the ceiling and the wave of shock rolled over his face. He said two words that were enough for all of us to break out in cold beads of sweat. “Rogues....attack” he hissed.
