I was in the front yard with my friends, chatting and strolling around there. We were waiting for the speech of the new Alpha where he will announce the new rules and any amendments and the new Beta and Gamma of the pack. Although it's clear who will get the posts, an official announcement must be made.The weather was indeed great here and the fragrance of the various flowers was filling the air. Leaving the group, I went over to the flower border, touching, and smelling them. There was a space left for maybe new flowers to be planted. But suddenly, I was pushed and I landed straight into the mud.

I really, really love mother Earth but I never want to taste mud again in my life.

I shrieked as slime got in my mouth, my eyes were burning from the mud, my face was fully painted brown, my hair was sticky from the slime, and my…Oh no, Elena's dress was soaked from the sludge.

"Rose," my friends exclaimed in unison.

A sinister laugh was heard and when I looked up, it was none other than Amanda's sidekicks.

Of course.

Lake and Elena pushed them aside and Sam helped me to stand. There were some scratches on my knees and my palm.

"Moon Goddess! What happened??" Sam asked befuddled. I was in tears and my lips wobbled due to the mud and embarrassment.

"Tsk tsk, she can't even stand up properly," Sonia teased with a smirk.

"I don't know why Sir Beta even allows her to stay in the pack?" Sky also joined her.

All the while Amanda was looking at me with a satisfied expression but didn't say anything.

"How about I show you the strength of my legs?" Elena growled and stood in front of me, blocking me from their view.

"Yeah my hands are already aching, I haven't punched anyone in three days" Lake thrashed at her fist with a cold expression. All the sweetness was gone from her demeanor. Sonia and Sky both gulped nervously and took two steps back.

"Lake, Elena just leave it," I said after spitting the mud out my mouth.

"Yeah, girls she is not even worth it, to be seen with us" Amanda hissed looking disgustedly at me.

"If you say another word you're done" Sam exclaimed in a low threatening voice, enough to send a shiver down their spine. All except Amanda's. She still stood with the same expression, not at all affected by Sam's words.

With a huff, Sonia and Sky left. Amanda looked me up and down one last time with her nostrils flared, she also left.

I was watching her retreating figure when Elena asked me with an accusation in her voice.

"Why do you never stand up for yourself, Rose? How many times will you let her step all over you?!" Elena yelled at me, her voice gained us some attention but she ignored it.

"What is going on between you two?" Sam asked while trying to clean my face and arms.

"Yes Rose, just tell us already. What is it?" Lake also urged me to say.

"It's nothing," I mumbled, still looking at her retreating image.

Lake turned me around and made me look her in the eyes "Just. Say. It. Rose" she said, emphasizing each word.

"P..please...I don't want to talk about it" tears slipped past my eyes at the memory from my past and the realization that everyone was now looking at me. So many people were out here. Alphas and Betas of neighbouring packs, all of our packs people. Despite the mud, I could feel my cheeks turn red due to embarrassment.

"Rose why--"

"Leave it Lake, when she's comfortable, she'll tell us" Sam cut off Lake from pressing the matter any further and leaving no room for discussion.

I couldn't be more grateful to him.

"Sis, what happened to you?" Bryan suddenly asked, striding towards me.

"N..nothing. I just slipped" I lied through my teeth to which Elena rolled her eyes.

"But how did you know?" I asked him because as far as I knew he was with that Christian guy.

"A girl told me that you fell. s**t! Rose, you are bleeding" he crouched down and began to examine my knees. I instantly knew it was Amanda's doing.

"It's ok Bryan. I am fine. I think I should go to my room in the packhouse" I reassured him and nudged him to stand.

"Alright, I'll go with you, can you walk?" Steve asked and held my hands. I nodded and start walking before waving to my friend's goodbye, but Elena came forwards and whispered in my ear

"We're not finished yet." and I avoided looking at her. As we were walking, the feeling of being followed again engulfed me. But I refused to acknowledge it because I'm sure as hell that no psychopath will come near a girl who practically took a bath in mud and dirt. While coming to my room Pops also spotted us, but Steve managed to explain to him what happened, but we could hear the murmurings when we passed the crowd in the hall. I looked down in embarrassment and bit my lip, maybe my brother noticed because he squeezed my hand in reassurance and said.

"It's ok, it's not your fault" making me smile at him.

When we reached my room. I locked my door, took my clothes off, and went into the bathroom. A hot water bath, that was all I needed right now. As soon as the warm water touched my body, instantly my muscles relaxed and I moaned in pleasure. I washed all the mud from my body, and shampooed my hair. After 15 minutes, I got out and took clothes out from my closet. As it was night time, I put on my black panties and a loose t-shirt that rested at my mid-thigh.

I didn't bother to dry my hair and jumped on my bed but immediately regretted it as my bruised knee came directly into contact, but the feeling of the soft mattress beneath me subdued the pain.

I put the sheets over me and my mind wandered back to today's events.

What a day it was. I sighed.

First, the hidden meaning in granny's words that I couldn't comprehend, the betrayal of my own body and meeting a psychopath, feeling tingles from just seeing the Greek god and lastly taking a mud bath that was not even my choice!!. But putting it like that, none of it was my choice. I don't know how much time I paid attention to my thoughts because my eyes became heavy and sleep consumed me taking me to my dreamland but again, I felt those tingling and warm sensations on my arms and waist but assuming it was just my imagination, I didn't pay heed to it and snuggle closer to that amazing source of energy.

I groan as sunlight directly hits my face and I snuggle close to the sheets and pull them over me, but I jerk my eyes open as I realized today I have school. Suddenly my phone buzzed and I frowned as I didn't remember bringing it with me. Actually, after that mud incident, I didn't see my phone. Maybe Steve put it here as he has an extra key to my room. I quickly checked my phone and my eyes widened. Holy cow, it's 10 am. I already missed my school and there were messages from my friends asking where the hell I am or why I haven't come to school and one message from Elena written in bold.

'Just because you didn't come today doesn't mean we won't talk about what happened yesterday. We are not done yet.'

I sigh and facepalm myself. Another day in my life that didn't get off to a great start.

I left my bed, did my morning routine, took a bath, and wore a black skirt that rested about my thighs and a white high neck t-shirt and left my hair down. I made my way downstairs to the dining room. Nobody was there except me and some Omegas. I greeted the Senior Omega and she gave me a warm smile and asked

"What would you like for breakfast dear?"

"Anything will be good" I am not a picky eater and will eat whatever is being made. She gave me a steaming hot cup of coffee and a vegetable omelette and I started digging in.

She came over to me and queried, "You didn't go to school today?"

"Yeah, I woke up late" she nodded and started cleaning the dining table. I was done and was about to leave the table when she stopped me.

"Steve asked me to tell you that, from now on you and your family will be staying in the packhouse. It's the order of the new Alpha."

"But why? We have our own house" I asked her in a little high-pitched voice, feeling not so great about having to leave my own cozy and comfy house permanently.

"You know your father is the pack doctor. So if there is an emergency in the packhouse, he will already be on-site" She explained to me with a look of sympathy.

"There are so many changes to the rules. I would have shared it, but I am a little busy right now Miss Rose, but later I can give you amended rule notice" she added sweetly. I nodded and thanked her and made my way back to my room.

It was a good idea, I know that, but still, I didn't want to permanently shift there. When I reached my room lobby, I kicked the wall and said with irritation clear as day in my voice

"Who does he think he is?"

"Your Alpha" a reply came from behind me in a rough and deep voice.
