Ariel's POV
How did this happen?
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, like all the air had been sucked out of me.
I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs. This couldn't be happening. It wasn't possible. There had to be some mistake.
I thought back to everything that had happened, trying to piece together the puzzle. But it was like trying to grasp a handful of sand; it kept slipping through my fingers.
