Ariel’s POV
I didn't expect it, wouldn't have seen it coming in a long shot.
My eyes widened as I stared back at him.
The force with which his hand pushed me against the wall knocked the air out of my lungs.
For a second, I couldn’t even breathe.
My back pressed flat against the cold marble of the wall as his body caged me in.
His scent suddenly enveloped me, choking me alongside the shock from the push.
He had a hand on either side of my hands and stared at me deeply.
“What are you doing?” I whispered in a high-pitched tone.
His jaw was locked, and his eyes had lost that soft look they had earlier.
Weren’t we teasing each other as the worst of all? They weren’t even angry.
They were grounded.
“You don’t walk away from me like that,” he said quietly.
