“What happened to my baby?” he said quietly, I bit my lip I didn’t like the look in his eyes.

“That was the problem.” Beth interjected, “see” she softened her tone significantly, “it may not have been your baby.” Derek just ignored her Iwas the complete centre of his world right now.

“What happened to our baby?” he repeated. I couldn’t look away but I wanted to. This was the first time in my life Derek had ever scared me, his tone was perfectly calm but the intensity in his eyes was too much.
