The gloomy weather made it seem like it was already noon but it was just 11:00am. I was waiting for a cab when a car pulled up in front of me. I couldn't tell who the owner was because it had tinted glasses. The car looked expensive and brand new. I kept on admiring the car.
"Betty, how're you?" Michael said.
I looked at him, not knowing what to say, I waved at him.
"Are you going to the coffee shop?" He asked.
I nodded and he invited me in. The car was so cozy and comfy that I almost fell asleep. He offered me chocolates and I reluctantly rejected and he insisted that I take it. I was a little bit hesitant but I collected it.
The ride to the coffee shop was longer than usual. We didn't talk much but I kept looking at him from the rare view mirror.
Seeing how hot he looked with his hand placed on the wheel and his folded sleeves made me a little bit shy. The silence was becoming too awkward then, he cleared his throat. I adjusted a little bit and he looked at.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
My heart skipped a beat. "Yeah, I'm ok." I couldn't tell if I was whispering but he nodded his head regardless.
The remaining ride to the shop was filled with silence and awkwardness.
We got my coffee shop few minutes later.
"Thanks for the ride, Michael." I said. "Why not come in and have some coffee?" I asked.
He got down from his sparkling car without saying a word. I smiled as I watched him close the car door.
When we got to the entrance of my coffee shop, he opened the door and let me in then, came in after.
Mirabel noticed us, she winked at me and walked to where we were sitting.
"Hey, I thought you left with your friend", she said.
I smiled at her and she asked Michael what he wanted to drink.
"Just coffee is okay, I don't really need milk". He declared.
"Taking coffee without milk is kinda…erm … I don't know". I stuttered. "Mirabel, get it for him and add some snacks" I added.
Mirabel left, leaving the two of us to chat.
"How long have you opened this coffee shop?" He inquired.
"About seven years ago. You see, this coffee shop is like my home. My happy home. I don't want to lose it to anyone please." I sobbed.
For the first time since we met this morning, I saw Mr. Michael smiling.
"You know, I'm a businessman and I really need this space for something. It will really bring lots of money". He added.
I began to wonder how cruel some people can be. I looked at him but felt something else instead of hatred. I wanted to hate him but his looks and his attitude made him more attractive.
We spoke for a few minutes and he left. I entered my office after telling Mirabel to take care of things there.

Few minutes later, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and saw Michael, with flowers in his hand. He looked me straight in the eyes and asked me if I'd like to go on a date with him, I agreed instantly without thinking.
That same afternoon, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and it was the delivery guy. He handed a box to me and asked me to sign.
When I closed the door, I received a call from Michael and said it was from him. I was so excited that I couldn't wait to see him. I never knew this side of him existed.
I sat on my bed, thinking about Michael. It was too good to be true. I wanted to hug him so tightly and kiss him like a newborn while he caressed my body with his hands. I called Trisha and told her what happened. She didn't believe it at first until I sent her pictures.
Then, I remembered that I haven't fixed my hair and nails. I quickly rushed to the nearby salon to get my hair and nails done.
