In front of Sebastian, the gruesome scene of creatures cannibalizing their own kind is not limited to the little demons. Not far away, the imps recruited by Sebastian are also engaged in mutual combat and consumption. Larger than the little demons and almost twice their size, these imps have already torn apart one of their companions and devoured it by the time Sebastian shifts his attention to them.
Even more terrifying is that these stronger imps, with an appetite not restricted to their own kind, include the small demons in their menu. The acknowledged cannon fodder of the abyss, the small demons, are now being hunted by the imps.
With cries of agony, the imps start seeking out suitable little demons to satisfy their appetite. The second batch of born little demons doesn't even get a chance to cannibalize like the first batch before becoming the food of the imps.
Flesh is torn, blood is consumed, and a small demon screams as it is restrained by a stronger imp. Despite its attempts to break free, it is futile. The demons' enjoyment of their first meal since birth is ruthless, and their insatiable desires drive them to consume more.
Sebastian initially thinks it's hunger that prompts the demons to cannibalize each other, so he quickly purchases enough food for the little demons and imps to last two days and distributes it among them. Additionally, he commands them to keep a certain distance from each other to prevent further cannibalism. However, this temporary solution doesn't change the nature of the demons.
Sebastian soon realizes that giving them food only slows down their mutual killing. As long as they lack a common goal, they will fight each other until the last one standing. However, he notices another feature of these demons – a tendency to misinterpret his commands. Despite being forced to obey, the demons often twist his orders, engaging in mischievous acts when he's not looking.
Deciding it's time to move forward, Sebastian opens the long-sealed Abyss Gate, inputting the coordinates provided by the celestial system. The demons, now with a mix of increased attributes from cannibalizing each other, are led toward the Abyss Gate. As the portal opens, Sebastian realizes that the demons have become a tool for his own evolution, albeit at the cost of blood.
He acknowledges the demons' progress but also realizes that if they continue evolving in this manner, his trial might end in failure. The innate nature of demons, driven by greed, evil, and insatiable desires, makes them a challenge to control. Sebastian struggles to maintain order among them, attempting to avoid unnecessary infighting.
Sebastian decides to send the demons to the Trial Continent to accumulate resources. The Trial Continent not only provides resources but also hosts native creatures transported by the celestial system. While resources on the continent are fixed, the number of challengers is continually increasing, leading to inevitable conflicts.
The dark forest, a representation of the ultimate law known as the "Dark Forest," brings not only meaning but also conspiracies, conflicts, and an inevitable war. Sebastian opens the Abyss Gate, marking the arrival of the first "guest" to the Trial Continent. Meanwhile, elsewhere, an observing sparrow expresses astonishment and bewilderment at the unusual events caused by Sebastian's actions.
