Something tickled Kara's cheek. If she just knew what it was she'd die a happy woman—it was so soft and damp. But she didn't.She didn't die either although a corpse probably felt more alive. Her nose was as much as she could move. The skin of it anyway. Maybe the muscles moved? She'd no idea. Even her head felt like a rock on her neck, her fingertips making no connection between what lay beneath them and her brain. Or maybe it was the other way about?
