Eulliyer
After half an hour, inspector Rowan invites me and Winter to enter his office and we saw there the inspector that he introduces to us earlier. He was sitting on the small couch in the corner of the room. He was looking at me like he was analyzing me with his eyes then when Winter enters he also looks at Winter.
"You may sit there." Inspector Rowan offers the two wood chairs before his desk before he sits on his swivel chair. We took the sit while the inspector was looking in the drawer of his desk then he put a bunch of papers on the table.
I also want to unravel this mystery that happening on Crimson but if it was a dangerous case like what Winter hunch, I don't want her to continue this case. I don't want to put her life in danger, but I'm also aware that I can't stop her, that's why I've decided that I will never let her do this alone.
"We found some lead that will show that the two victims were connected." Inspector got my attention, he lines up some papers on the desk and I notice that it was the Student information paper of the two deceased from the suicide incidents.
"They were friends..." Winter murmur while picking up one of the papers then I took the other one. It was the student information of Juvia Dela Cruz.
"Was it odd that two-person commit suicide and they are friends?" I exclaim in disbelieve, what is this? They just decided that they will commit suicide without any leads or information on why they do that? As far as I know, people commit suicide because they can't take their problems anymore. And some people commit suicide because they want attention.
"It is also possible that after Johan heard about his friend's death he got depressed and end himself," Winter commented while scanning the paper.
"Or someone was taking revenge against them..." Inspector Thomas said out of a sudden. We look at him but he was reading a magazine and sitting there like a boss.
"That was also possible." Winter Agreed with him then look back at inspector Rowan. I'm pretty sure Winter already have a hunch on this case and about the connection of the two first victim. I don't know what was her goal and why is she so determine on solving this case, if she wants some recognition for being a student detective she already proves her abilities and she doesn't have to put herself in danger for that.
Winter's eyes fixed again on the piece of paper in her hand, she was reading it and analyzing every possible connection she will have just to solve this case immediately. I was scared, Yes I am scared for her safety. I cared for her so much but I'm scared that I don't have the courage to defend her in case of a dangerous situation will arise.
"What was your opinion on this case, Mr. Peters?" I immediately look at Inspector Rowan. I was preoccupied and I'm not ready for his question but I have to say something. What was my opinion on this case? Do I already believe that this is a serial killer case or just a suicide incident?
"I think we need to find more solid evidence about this case than jump into some conclusion that someone was taking revenge against the two deceased students," I respond to Inspector Rowan's question. I'm not trying to oppose on what Inspector Thomas opinion but I was just saying that we need to think rationally here.
"How about you, Ms. Guzman?" I don't know if Inspector Rowan accepts my answer. He was focusing and waiting on Winter's answer to his question.
"I think the same thing as Eulliyer. I also think that we couldn't jump into some idea that we still don't have proof." I wasn't expecting that answer. I thought she was already made up her mind and already believe that this case wasn't a simple suicide. I wonder what makes her say that and agreed with me.
Inspector Rowan let us leave after that conversation and he let Winter take the papers that consist of the information about the two deceased students. We are walking back to the dormitory and Winter suddenly stops so I have to stop as well.
"What is it?" I ask her but she was looking blankly. She was always like that these past few days. She just stares at something from far away. She was always preoccupied and she wasn't like this before and that makes me worried more about her. I walk closer to her and I hold her shoulders to shake her. Then she looks at me with a confused look. "What?" she asks me.
"What? What was going on with you?" I couldn't restrain my emotion right now which is I was good at, there's a lot of things that was going on in my head and I was so worried about her.
I held her two hands and it was frozen cold, I think this case is stressing her out but I know as well that I can't do anything to convince her to stop solving this case.
"Look Winter, if this case was stressing you out we can back out anytime." She was looking straight into my eyes with confused eyes. The old Winter that I know wasn't the Winter I was talking right now, it feels like she was building a huge wall that I couldn't break. She was making a space between me and her. I could feel that she didn't trust me right now and that she was hiding something from me.
"I'm okay, EU." she said emotionless. She never treats me like this before, she was so distant to me now. What's going on with her?
"If your too scared to solve this case you can back out now, I'm not going to stop you!" that was the first time she looks at me like that, her eyes were telling me to back off and to stay away from her. She was disappointed in me! She takes her hands away from mine and hides them in her back.
"I'm not scared about this case, Winter! I was scared about your safety..." I paused.
"I know you are tired, let's talk again tomorrow." I continue, then I turn my back so I could leave her but I stop. "Don't worry I'm not going to back out. We will solve this case together!" I said before leaving her.
I go straight to my room after that conversation. I get it, she was just tired that's why she was so sensitive right now, what I don't get is the way she looks at me. She was so disappointed in me and she was making a distance from me like she doesn't trust me at all.
To be continue...
