Mystery in Crimson University (The Unsettled Maybes)

|Suicide Note|

Winter

I was standing in front of Ms. Reyes desk for almost 10 minutes now. She was on her laptop and I can hear the keyboard being busy. I know I'm being absent-minded in her class but this is the first time that it happened, she don't have to summon me here in her office. 

She suddenly look at me and then look back at her gadget. My hands are in my back, I'm calming myself so I won't say unnecessary things. 

"Good afternoon miss Winter Guzman!" she greeted me while closing her laptop. There's no chair before her desk so I have to keep on standing until she finish what she wanted to say to me. I'm pretty sure it was just about how I behave earlier in her class. 

"You know you are the top student in my class, and the way you acted earlier was really not you." she started, I waited and didn't response to her.

"I'm really worried about you. Is there something bothering you?" I fake a smile. I don't know what to say and I know she won't believe me either if I told her that it was just because of a bad dream.

"You can always talk to me when your getting a hard times specially in your academic. The welfare of every students in Crimson is the top priority." her smile wasn't genuine and I can tell that for sure. Welfare of the students in Crimson? Or just the welfare of the top students of Crimson. They acting worried after the suicide incident. What a drag!

"I'm okay ma'am! I'm just on my red days!" that's the only reason I could think right now and I hope she bite it.

"Is that so?" she stood up, her pink uniform was a bit tangled. 

"You may leave now and take some rest, Miss Guzman!" she said softly while a big smile was flustered in her face. I just nod and leave. When I got out the room I immediately saw Eulliyer waiting for me. I made him so worried to me earlier. I myself couldn't understand why I reacted that way when I heard about the suicide incident. That was new in Crimson, nothing happened in Crimson back then that so horrible like this. 

"What happened?" he ask with a hysterical tone. I immediately notice his messy hair and necktie, I hate things that's not in proper order that's why I grab his necktie and fix it for him, but because of that he was now so flustered and his ears turn read, I ignore his reaction and then I comb his hair using my hand. 

When I'm already satisfied I step backward and smile at him. "I'm okay now, EU!" I assured him. 

"Mr. Eulliyer Peters!" we both turn to where the voice came from and we saw Ms. Reyes standing in the corner of the doorway of her office, she was wearing a irritating smile. I don't know if she saw what I just did to EU but that doesn't concern me.

"Yes ma'am?" EU responded to our adviser. 

"Look after on Miss Guzman, she need that!" EU don't have the time to respond because Ms. Reyes close the door of her office after she said thus stupid things to EU. I don't know why I have this kind of irritating feelings towards her since she become our adviser. I hate her presence and I think she was just faking on how she interact on other people. I'm also wondering why a new teacher already have her own office! 

"Let's go and eat, Winter!" EU lead the way to our cafeteria that located in the first floor of this building. We have a cafeteria card and we just have to scan it before we enter the cafeteria, then after that we can eat everything that we want. All the student was going back and forth, they are busy and the issue of the suicide incident earlier is already forgotten.  

I feel bad for the girl that committed suicide. What would be her reason to just give up on her life? Does her parents give her so much pressure to become one of the top student in Crimson? Does one of the teacher humiliated her? Family issue or her boyfriend broke her heart? Though I'm not sure who she was, I feel bad that the only resort she come up was letting go and give up on her life. 

"Winter your card?" I startled  and I almost jump because of EU. I took my wallet where I always put may Cafeteria Card and give it to him. He scan it and after a few second the door got open and we both enter.

Our cafeteria is a white huge room that can accommodate  a thousand students of Crimson, once you enter you will smell so many good foods that will make your stomach simmer in hunger. All the student was eating in silence and only small murmuring will be heard. That was one of the rule in here, eat in silence and don't disturb others, and Crimsonians always followed the rules.

"Let's sit here, Winter!" We stop in the corner that have a small silver table that only two people can sit and it was also kind of far from other tables. EU pulled a chair and offer it to me that I immediately accept. 

"What do you want to eat? I will get them for you." I'm so happy that I have a friend like him that always take good care of me. Though people are always comparing me to him he never change his treatment to me and always be a good friend to me. He was always the top 2 of our class while I'm on the Top 1 but he never show a hostile attitude to me every time I beat him. 

"I can eat anything you will chose." I smile at him. I need to assured him that I was okay so he can agree on solving the suicide incident here in Crimson. I just have this feeling that it was not just a simple suicide and Inspector Rowan being summon was confirm my guts that this is a serious case. 

"Okay then." he take off his black coat and put in on the header of the chair then head on the counter to get our food. 

"Hey Winter!" Flow was excited on her way to me. She excitedly sit on EU's chair.

"Hi Flow!" I smile at here. She is Flow Bianco and she is my roommate. She was a lively and happy go lucky type of person. She also have this optimistic attitude that sometimes drain my energy. She always smells like a sweet and newly opened roses. Her lips was pinkish just like her chubby chicks that makes her look cute. She was nice and kindhearted to everyone even in animals that added to her charm. I don't know but she always made me calm in everyway. 

"You left the room early this morning, Flow!" I said while staring at her light brown eyes. 

"Yeah, I need to go to the library and finish my assignment!" she said full of energy. 

"Are you with Eulliyer?" her eyes wandered around maybe looking for EU. I already knew that she like EU since when we were in our 1st year. I always invited EU in our dormitory when we have a group project back then and I always catch her staring at EU. She was so cute every time I saw her get shy in front of my friend. EU was a good looking guy and Flow was a pretty girl, they look good together. I'm actually like the thought of them being a lovely couple. 

"Yeah his getting our food, do you want to join us?" I ask her with a smirk on my lips, and that simple teasing make her face so red. Sadly she was in 4B class while me and EU was in 4A class.

"No... I already eat!" she said while covering her chicks. I can't stop myself from smiling because of her reaction.

"I need to go now... see you in our room, Winter!" she said then immediately leave. I followed her with my gaze and found out that the reason why Flow immediately left is because EU was coming. 

EU put the trey that contains our food in the small table while his eyes was confuse looking at Flow from a distance. 

"Was that Flow?" he pulled the chair and sit on it. He buy a 2 spaghetti with fried chicken, 2 small fries and 2 coffee flout. The smells of the food made me so hungry, but I wasn't hungry earlier. He really knows what kind of food I would like. 

We start eating in silence like what other does, I wanted to open the topic of the suicide incident already but I'm worried that the topic will make EU lost his appetite so I stop myself and just continue eating.

"You wanted to say something, right?"   He said while drinking his cold coffee. I was startled and I couldn't say anything. 

"You want some information about the incident this morning?" he continue, I just nod then he putdown the cup of coffee in the table and lean close to me. 

"The admin actually forbid the students to talk about the issue so we can't talk that in here." He said with a low voice that I almost couldn't hear him. He then sit properly and finish his food.

After we finish our food we head to the greenhouse. The gardener become our friends and he let us stay in here sometimes to do our school assignments and some school works. There are benches and tables in the center part of the greenhouse where we usually stay. 

"The student name was Juvia Dela Cruz." EU started. 

"The Campus Police also found a suicide note on her room and they are still investigating her roommate." He explain. Where did he get all of this information about that incident if the Admin already forbid to talk about it?

"I have a hacking skills, Winter!" he proudly reminded me. I can't stop myself from rolling my eyes of disbelief. I always thought that he can be a great detective like he wanted to be someday, at a young age he already know how to hack some information that belongs to the authority and he have a good deduction skills that he always able to read my reactions.

"What was written on the suicide note?" I ask him, hoping that he have an answer to my question. 

"I deserve to die!" His voice was low and full of sadness when he said thus lines. 

"That's all?" I ask in disbelief.

"The police also said that they confirm that it was her handwriting!" So if it was really a suicide why does they call Inspector Rowan here? Inspector Rowan Santiago was a great detective and he never accept a simple cases. 

"What if this is really a simple suicide? Maybe they just ask a second opinion to Inspector Rowan!" EU has a point on that, but why do I have this kind of feelings that there's something odd in here? 

"Let's still investigate, what if we find something that will help the police?" I convince EU. I'm not sure if he will still agree on me after he discover that this might be a simple suicide case only. But I hope he will.
