Andrea was losing her mind as she tried to analyze why Gerald was trying to risk everything they had worked on this match. This was what they had worked for both inside the hospital and out. There was even a surgical operation in which he was at risk of complete paralysis in one arm.
As Andrea and Gerald were still talking drawing more attention to themselves with neither of them caring about the consequences they were saved by another whistle and the game continued. Andrea realized the game had began again at the sound of the whistle and something in her was relieved. She was about returning to her seat with the hope of continuing the conversation with Declan but she froze at the spot when Gerald spoke up.
“If you really don’t won’t me going into the game as soon as the next substitution is needed you would have to stop me” Gerald said.
At first Andrea felt that the sentence had no sense to it as she was not the one putting her career at risk, it was him. At the same time she was quite aware that if anything happens to him the hospital in which she represents would definitely take disciplinary actions regardless of the fact that he was being too hot headed. Her orthopedic nursing career was just being launched, she won’t let him sink it.
What was wrong with this guy, was it just the ego thing or was he clearly stupid and oblivious of the tragedy that could happen if something else happened to his hand again.
She grabbed a sit closer to him and sat there till the end of the match. The body guards prevented Declan from crossing into that side Andrea was seated and this made Gerald elated, she was his and his alone and soon enough she was going to realize that.
The game ended after the second half which lasted about 50 minutes in favor of the New York united and they all smiled in victory to the changing room. The weather was nice but had gotten a bit chilly, bad time for Andrea to be dressed like a bad b***h on the pitch. She was freezing as her body was a little more exposed than usual. At the same time she had felt her rage was enough to keep her warm as she was still upset from the stunt Gerald had pulled at the game.
The exist for fans and supporters were quite different from the one used for players and workers of the club. Declan had probably left and she had no chance to form an acquaintance before Gerald had pulled his stunt.
“Do you need a jacket?”Gerald asked as he noticed how chilly she was looking no matter how she tried to hide it.
Still in her mood she decided to ignore what he said as she was willing to freeze and develop a frost bite than take hell from him. Gerald knew she was in an obvious mood, she was not one to hide it as she was more mean than usual. After Gerald’s careful assessment of the situation, there was no reason to let his nurse die of frost bite in a foreign land and he decided to crave her indulgence as he went into the room and got a track suit jacket anyway. The jacket had his name inscribed at the back of it and he dropped it on her exposed thighs. That was the best he could do as he did could not bring himself lower than that.
Andrea picked it up and after carefully assessing it again she wore it over her top. Andrea was an extreme hot head and most times she attributed it to her Leo zodiac sign but clearly she was not foolish.
Andrea took a deep breath as soon as her body was one with the jacket as it had the peculiar scent which she craved to be at her nostrils each minute, Gerald’s scent. She loved the way it hugged her body as it was large enough to trap in heat it invariably making her warm.
Most people had changed out of their soccer clothes, showered were on their way out of the changing building. Only a few players were left and the bus that was to take them to the hotel was on standby. Gerald and Daniel were the only two left coming out of the changing room. As soon as Andrea had sighted Gerald she acted as tho she wasn’t completely awed by his scent a few moments ago.
“Congratulations captain”Gerald told Daniel as they paused in front of the changing building still exchanging pleasantries. Daniel had stepped in to act as captain till Gerald was fully recovered to take back the title.
“Thanks” Daniel said.
“I will see you back at the hotel” Gerald said.
“You are not riding the bus with us? Daniel asked as all the players usually go as a pac.
“No I would be going with Andrea, you guys go on without me” Gerald replied.
“Lucky bastard” Daniel said as he teased Gerald while walking away. He had noticed that Andrea was standing from her chair and walking towards them.
“Definitely not what you think” Gerald said to Daniel who had his mind already on a lot of intimate activities but Gerald knew he only wished to take Andrea on a date as a man and not just her patient.
Andrea had already stood up and was walking up to them as she saw Daniel depart leaving Gerald standing alone. She had wait for quite a while for them to come out and she wondered what more they needed to say to each other which they had not previously said in the shower or while changing.
Before she got to where they were standing Daniel had departed giving her a sexy grin as he left.
All the momentum she had gone with to complain that he had kept her waiting for a long time all vanished the moment they got close enough. They looked at each other for a few seconds before Gerald spoke up to her with his deep baritone voice breaking the silence.
“Have dinner with me” Gerald said.
“Is that a request? Andrea smiled briefly but realized it soon enough to snap out of it.
“Definitely not Andrea, it’s an order” he replied with a straight face which still happened to look sexy.
The roof top suite looked exquisite as Gerald had walked in before Andrea had followed right behind him. The cool calm breeze was a charming factor about this roof top dinner and the sleep of fresh flowers was so beautiful. How did she get so quickly obsessed with the smell of fresh flowers after living with Gerald for just a short time. She could now clearly believe in the calming power of fresh flowers as she had just previously thought that they were being brought to the hospital for patients by their relatives and well wishers have nothing else to buy for a quick recovery off their sleeves. There was stars in the sky and from this level up she could actually see them clearly as they were beautiful. How she longed to have dinner under the stars and it was coming to pass, well technically in a few minutes.
They sat down close to the end of the roof top restaurant which gave them an amazing view of the city. Andrea was not surprised that the restaurant was empty as she had known the billionaire soccer player was willing to pay any amount of money for his privacy. After a few minutes of settling down in her feelings she came to the realization that this was a date, an actual date. “SHE WAS ON A DATE WITH HER PATIENT” how much worse could it get? She could not claim this was an accident or it was important for her job. She could not even say she was lured there against her will. The international council of nurses would have a filled day with her name if they were to find out.
“s**t” Andrea exclaimed as she dropped the fork and knife she had been using to cut the steak which they ordered as soon as she remembered the international council of nurses. This was not just about the hospital she worked for, she was wrong on all levels.
“What’s wrong? Gerald asked.
“Would you rather be somewhere else?” Gerald asked with concerns on how she had reacted at that moment.
“Your drugs are in my other bag that was taken to the hotel” Andrea replied as that was the fastest thing she could come up with.
Gerald was short of words as he had previously thought that getting them out of their familiar work environment would make her to feel a little calm and open up her mind to the possibility of seeing him as a man once again and not just her patient. It was clearly not working.
“Could you wait one hour without thinking about just work?” Gerald asked Andrea.
“This “works” as you call it is clearly about your health” Andrea said in her defense.
Gerald was fully aware that there was nothing he was going to say that would make sense to the both of them as she was clearly not willing to loosen up.
“Could we put on an act for now till we return to Washington tomorrow?” Gerald asked.
“What act? Andrea asked.
“Well, Could you drop the fact that you are my nurse. We are in a strange land and your rules don’t apply here” Gerald said.
“Technically the rules remain constant regardless of the region” Andrea said.
“If you actually want to get better you should let me do my job” Andrea added.
“What if I don’t” Gerald asked.
Andrea was quite shocked at the reply too shocked to clarify if he was just interested in obstructing her job or he was not interested in getting better so as to keep her by his side for longer periods.
Andrea felt as tho there was a lump in her throat as she couldn’t ask any further questions without making it uncomfortable for both parties. She reached out to get the glass of water and her hand was held by his.
“Why do you keep acting like you don’t want me too?” Gerald asked in a low slightly audible tune.
