The nurse manager’s office was as silent as a grave yard as Nicole waited for Andrea to reply to her request yet the only thing that was dieing at the moment was her dreams. The chances of recovering from taking the job or turning it down was clearly to her detriment. If she refuses to take the job she places her and the hospital at a really difficult place but if she takes the job she sets herself for a the biggest temptation of her life which she might clearly not return from the same way.

“You would do it for the hospital right?” Nichole the nurse manger asked.

This time around the request to nurse Gerald felt as tho she was been pimped out as a hooker and she had no choice to turn down the request down. It was for the hospital, “one for the team” which was a popular saying.

“We really need the pediatric wing of the hospital to keep running and if we do not Indulge them this time they would pull back their support to that section of the hospital” Nichole said.

“And I get to be the sacrificial lamb?” Andrea said in a murmur with no intention of being caught.

“What did you say?” Nichole asked.

“Nothing” Andrea said as she wouldn’t dare to complain about the assignment.

The New York soccer club’s name was used to make the request, it was said that the nurse who treated Gerald was needed to run a follow up post hospital care for the player. This would involve coordinating all of the multidisciplinary team that was intended to follow up Gerald’s care. This included the neurosurgeons, the plastic surgeons and the orthopedic surgeons. The physical therapist was also a member of this team and a nurse was needed in other to glue together the group of professionals health care team for a more tolerable experience for Gerald.

Andrea really felt like nursing was returning to the paramilitary regime as nothing was really negotiable. To make matters worse the position was going to be live in, how could they even pull such strings? What power did they have over the hospital? Was money that important to them? Funds could be managed properly and budgets cut could be made to find a way to fund the pediatric units without the support of the soccer club that was a fact. You would never mind humans for finding the easiest way out of every corner she was just one nurse, she was sure she could have been sold out to the club with a snap of the finger at their request.

It was her first day as a home nurse for Gerald, she had left her house early that morning and in the cold to make it to the train station on time. Andrea was used to catching a bus to the other side of the city as that was where the hospital is located. But this trip was to the other side of the city, the section for the elite as her and her friends liked to call it so the route was unfamiliar to her hence the need to start the trip on time. She would have picked an Uber to the place but the prices she was seeing was definitely unrealistic as she was definitely unwilling to pay that fee. Transportation was not covered in the payment plan as she was required to live in the apartment provided. Was it the soccer club being cheap or was there another reason? Guess she would never find out. Another reason she needed to be there on time was because Belhamin was leaving for New York City early that morning and it was paramount she was there in time as she was to be available before he left. She had called her four friends Anna, Joan, carol and of course Penny the previous night to tell them about what had happened to her. Their thoughts were definitely not in line with Andrea’s as it was their “go relief your stress regimen” that landed her into such mess in the first place. Penny was the only one who had a clue about the strong confusing emotions that she was going through.

Penny had a not so similar situation a year ago when she was attracted to a single father called Paul whose daughter was admitted into the hospital. They had been on a few in-hospital dates even though they had refused to call them dates till after the incident. Penny was unable to control herself around paul and to impress him, his daughter got maximum care possible. To Penny Paul’s daughter was ranked priority in the ward even though there was no medical reason why she should be. There was a young boy who was deprived of the ventilator and cardiac monitor that was placed on Paul’s daughter which she clearly no longer needed, but this boy was at the verge of death. Penny could not get herself to unplug Paul’s daughter from the ventilator as she felt it would ruin her chances with Paul.

The boy eventually got worse and after a few moments of confusion and countless attempts to resuscitate the boy proved successful, Penny was called in for negligence of duty. The trial from the disciplinary committee was in her favor as the disciplinary committee did not dig deep into the matter to discover that her decision was clouded by other motives asides her hampered observations skill. She got off with a suspension for two weeks and a warning which was the best sentence she was both hoping for.

The fear of a dent or a little stain in your career due to your liable emotions was something only Penny could relate to among her friends. Once you let your emotions get mixed up with your career and you get into deep trouble that could eventually ruin you. The very moment you are asked to pick between lust and your career you would get to pick your career in a heartbeat, the tricky part is when it is between love and your career. This was what Andrea hoped her heart understood.

As she arrived at the address given to her, the building looked extremely fancy from the outside and the inside definitely did not disappoint her one bit. It was the soccer club’s money she wasn’t surprised. It was a 25 story apartment and was really popular all over Washington as being reserved for the elite as money alone was unable to get you into that apartment. Andrea had arranged the stubborn lock of hair for the second time as it fell to her face while she pressed the buzzer again. He was definitely expecting her so why the long wait to buzz her in .

Andrea was buzzed in in a few minutes as that was the beginning of her first trial or so she thought, Gerald had just gotten out of the shower with the towel tied securely around his waist, fully exposing the bulge of his groin through the towel, and showing off his dreamy torso and biceps. The water was still dripping from his hair and down to even his broad chest.

Even though the sling was still laced on his left arm, it could not stop him from looking his best and growing more sexy in her eyes arousing the lustful spirit in her. As Andrea laid eyes on him, he seduced every each of her without even trying.

When Gerald heard the buzzer go off that morning, he knew who it was instantly. There were two solid reasons for this, absolutely no one except Belhamin knew were he was and he had left early to catch a flight back to New York and secondly his private nurse was on her way. It was unusual that his conscience had not began to prick him yet due to all the things he had done this past few days just to get Andrea to remain in his space and within his reach, he couldn’t lose her again. He would have anyone he wanted, but the danger associated with getting her was way too intriguing for him to resist . He wanted to relive that moment with her and definitely get it right this time around.

The elevator peeped and opened up with Andrea a standing in its perfect middle. Dressed in regular clothing a Jean pant and a red top. Her eye’s shone brightly which was unusual for someone at that time of the day. Was it range or excitement? Gerald could definitely not tell the difference at this moment as he wanted to hold her tightly as she walked out the elevator.

He was tempted to rush to the elevator and grab her right there while his towel fell off and let her skin rub every part of him, it didn’t matter what she wore anything on her skin was enough to turn him on. Baby steps Gerald, baby steps he reminded himself.
