Adrian clicked his phone off when Ari entered the room again, his nerves still biting at him. Although he wanted to call his mother, he wanted to do it privately, alone. Maybe after Ari fell asleep. But it wasn’t something he could do in front of her, at least not yet. He hadn’t spoken to any of them, not his father, not his mother or sister for nearly twelve years.
