It was three in the morning when Walker locked the door.
The lights were off, the house was quiet, and Kate was asleep upstairs. It had been quite a night, since he now had a girl—an official girlfriend, as he had told everyone—had solved a case in a way he’d never expected, and was no longer freaking out at the thought of not being a single man.
Kate was a woman who held his interest, drove him crazy, and had gotten inside him as no one had before. He wanted to protect her, keep her close, and hurt anyone who tried to mess with her.
