Sebastian sat alone in his office the morning after they signed the contract. The city stretched far below the wide glass windows, full of moving cars and tall buildings, but he did not look at the view for long. He picked up his phone and called his head lawyer. “Come to my office now,” he said. “Bring the full file on Genevieve Harrington’s divorce. Every paper.” The lawyer arrived twenty minutes later carrying a thick folder under his arm. He placed it carefully on the large desk and sat down across from Sebastian. “I have already looked through most of it,” the lawyer said.
