The provocation

"I hope we can all form an alliance to fight the rogues and drive them back to where they should be, without threatening and wolves". Alpha Herlbert said solemnly. Kendal Jenner's countenance fell, on hearing that, and his face began to grow grave and he did not speak again. "We are willing to make an alliance, the rogues really should not be in the territory of other wolves; especially now that they have grown extremely aggressive, which is a threat to other wolves ". Salvador Perez, Santiago's father said. Several Alpha's immediately gave their own affirmations, and they all agreed to give their alliance. But Kendall Jenner was slow to respond. "Kendall, do you have any reservations?!" Herlbert could also see Kendall's hesitations, and so he asked. "I am just worried that if we would form this alliance, it will stimulate the rogues to attack us even more frantically. As you know, not all wolves are as strong as you are". Kendall replied. The alliance formed by the rogues was different from that of other wolf packs, in that they had a very simple hierarchy with only managers and the people they managed. They all carried very strong hostility, and hatred, towards other wolf packs. Although their numbers was small,, they were very capable in combat. And for wolves like the ones led by Luggard Winston-Salem, The Dusk Moon wolf pack, it was a great threat. Even if they could call for help, the other wolves would not come to support them immediately. "Regarding this, you can rest assured. After forming the alliance, we will set up garrison points in places that are frequently attacked by rogues, and send people to guard there and ensure everyone's safety". Alpha Herlbert said. His answer made the already high tension to ease at once. "If that is the case, then I will join the alliance. What is the next line if action?". Kendal Jenner said, aggreing to Herlbert's proposal. "We will start the attack towards where the rogues is gathered the most. And to their lesser gathering point, the adjacent wolves will cooperate to expel them from the territory". Herlbert said. The meeting was about the various Chiefs and leaders of wolf packs, to discuss what tactics should be used against the rogues in the packs, which made it incomprehensible to me, and I wondered why Lycan had to bring me along. I had been standing next to him all through the almost four hours the meeting had lasted so far, and my legs were starting to ache. Finally, the meeting is over, and as Lycan and his father Herlbert moved to talk to Gamma in private, I took the opportunity to go to my mother, and my stepfather. "Tiffany you are looking so beautiful, I couldn't take my eyes off you all through the meeting". She said, tea hing out and giving me a hug "Thanks, Mr Lycan got me the dress. And, I have really missed you guys". I said as we hugged again.. I really missed them truly, and would have preferred to stay at home with them than staying at Lycan's villa. Although it was not in any way in comparison, but at least it is not as aggravating. "We missed you so much too, how are you coping up there?". My mother asked, looking at me with tenderness in her eyes. "Not so bad I guess, otherwise Lycan wouldn't have brought her to the meeting; would he?!". Luggard said. Smiling. I said nothing. Not wanting my mother, Isabella to know I wasn't having a good time there. Complaint won't help now, it will only make my mother feel hurt, and sad. It was taking long for Lycan and his father, Alpha Herlbert, to finalize their conversations with the other Alpha and leaders. And since Lycan doesn't want me to stay with him, I went outside alone to take another view at the rose garden that reminded me of my father; the late Alpha of the Dusk of the moon pack. The supposed Alpha of the weak wolf clan. "Tiffany, do you like roses so much?". Jada asked in my head. She had noticed my keen interest in the garden of roses. "I sort of like roses, but I am more curious to know where the garden my late father planted roses were". I replied Jada, in my head too. Probably, I will never see it. And I wondered if he would be feeling the same way I did now; knowing that I might never see the garden of roses my father planted. He has always been the strongest, and the most gentle Alpha in my heart. I smiled at myself, just for having the thought of my father go through in my mind "How about we quickly pick one of the roses away; we would always have them to admire when we are alone". Jada goaded me. "No Jada, I will be dead if I am found out". I replied her. I didn't want to be embarrassed here, and my fear amused Jada, and she giggled in my head. "Do you also liked the rose garden here?". A male's voice asked from behind me. I turned and looked back, it was Joey, the son of one of the chiefs of the Ansett family. She had short and slightly messy dark brown hair, and light blond eyes, and his smiles seems flirtatious. "I'm just hanging out here, admiring the roses". I replied, and instinctively kept my distance from him; his gaze really made me uncomfortable. "Are you afraid of me?". Joey asked, as he moves slowly towards me. "You look very pretty, have you found your mate already?". "I.. I..I haven't had my coming of age ceremony yet". I stammered. My heart was filled with nervousness, and fear, yet Joey didn't stop. "Tiffany, I think you should run away to Lycan now; this man looks evil and dangerous". Jada also sounded nervous. "That is wonderful. I don't have a mate yet too, and if you can be my mate, I will be the most luckiest, and the happiest person in this world. Will you be willing to be my mate?". He inquired. Joey approached me step by step, gently, and I stepped back in increasingly panic He really he'd out to touch my face and I hurriedly and subconsciously avoided it. "I am Alpha Lycan Herlbert's personal maid, and I will only obey his orders". I said. I tried to look calm, but my heart was already in a panic. "So you are Lycan's personal maid?". "I am afraid, yes. I am sorry, I should leave now". I added. And waited for him to give way so I could pass, and leave his presence as soon as possible. "That is okay by me!". Joey said, more like an after thought. I wondered what he meant, and what he was up-to, as I looked into his face in search of an answer. "I mean; as long as you are with me, it doesn't matter if you are a mate or not". Joey said, and was going to take my arm. "Mr Joey I really should leave now, or Mr Lycan would be angry". Joey doesn't seem to care about Lycan's anger, as he grabbed my wrist with with a hand, and gripping my waist so tightly that I cringed in pain, but couldn't break free. "Don't be in a hurry to leave, I promise you will like me". Joey said as he drew me closer to lean on him. "Mr Joey if you don't let go of me right now, I will draw the attention of everyone here!". I said to him with obvious anger. "Draw the attention of everyone here, and tell them how you seduced me. Is that what you mean?!" Joey said to me back, smiling moguely, and not in any bit afraid "Don't you forget that you are just a maid, and I am the owner here. . What else do you think everyone else would think; if not that you are trying to seduce me". Joey added, and gave me an evil smile. The anger in my heart was burning like a fury flame, how could he say such a shameless words. "What the hell do you want?! ". I yelled in a cold voice. He smiled in an evil way, and lifted up his hand to touch my face. At that pint, all I wanted was for someone; anyone to come to my rescue. "Joey, if you don't let her go this minute, I will announce to everyone that you have publicly provoked me". Lycan! I heard the name in my head, and suddenly felt a glimpse of hope. Joey smiled and let my hands go. He turned to Lycan and said. "How is that a provocation to you; she is just your personal maid, isn't she?" Joey's evil smile and cold voice sent a shiver down my spine. "Tiffany, it is time for us to go home". Lycan just ignored Joey, and said to me with a cold face. I hurried to Lycan's side, and followed him towards the entrance of the estate. In the car, Lycan didn't talk to me; but kept looking at the other side of the window. Everyone seemed to be carrying something on their mind, but no one said anything. Just the silence haunting us. It wasn't until we got back to the villa, and the Limo pulled up inside the gate, that Lycan spoke to me. "Come with me to the study". He said to me. I hurried and followed him, wondering what he would say to me. "We just received words that Kendal has close ties with those rogues behind our back, and may even had allied with them". Lycan said, with what seemed like an apologetic look on his face. Wait! Why is he telling me this, and why did he look so angry?!. I wondered in my mind, and couldn't ask him; or even say anything. A twinge of unease welled up in my heart. " Our plan was to launch a surprise attack on the rogues' gathering point in a weeks time, with Luggard, your stepfather, and a few other wolves attacking first". He continued, with same apologetic voice. I looked hard at Lycan, was he joking with me? Although it was something that the wolves, who agreed to the alliance were destined to do; involve in the conflict and even the war, and the dangers involved were simply not known; especially to the not too strong wolves pack like The Dusk moon pack wolves, whom Luggard led, and my mother Isabella is there too. I couldn't understand why the change of plan. The rogues has always been expelled from their territory, why does it suddenly became about killing them? And involving weak wolves?! I couldn't understand why they changed their plans. I had already lost my father in a territorial battle, and I didn't want to lose my mother too. "Kendall has defected, and we don't have anymore time to hesitate. But, I promise, that we will keep your family as safe as possible". He concluded, it was as if he could read my mind, and could sense my fear. I didn't know what else to say, I was just silent. And I remembered what my mother Isabella said to me, when I met her and my stepfather outside the Ansett family 's estate compound before joining Lycan in the Limo "Tiffany, although your coming of age ceremony is passed, we will celebrate it for you when you return". She had told me, gently stroking my head. "Any day of the week of your choice is fine by us; we will celebrate it for you. We.. we love Tiffany and we will wait for you". Luggard had added, with a smile. "I love you too". I replied, with a smile too. Even though I wasn't sure of my fate then; with them, and with Lycan who was waiting for me in the car. But now I do! And just hoped that Luggard could be able to protect my mother. "Thank you". That was what I had to say to Lycan after the long silent, I didn't know what else to say. All I had in my heart was worries for my family. "You can go home anytime you want from now, till the end of the battle". Lycan said to me. But, do I really want to go home? At night, I lay in the soft bed but could not sleep. My mind was all about home. "Tiffany, I can feel that you are sad, but do not worry; everything will be fine". Jada was also gently comforting me; trying to cheer me up. "I am fine Jada, I am just a little worried. This is the first time I am leaving home for a long time". I assured her. I didn't know how long it took before I fell asleep. In the morning, I prepare breakfast for Lycan as I had always being doing. When I walked into Lycan's room to serve him his breakfast, I met Santiago there, and the frown on their faces made me froze; and I wonder if I had interrupted or intruded in anything. "I am sorry if....... ". I was about to apologize when Santiago walked up to me and said. "No Tiffany, you didn't do anything. We just got a distress call from the Dusk Moon Pack". Santiago said to me, holding my hand like he was sure I could drop the tray of breakfast in my hand in shock. my heart immediately tensed up. My previous intuition was right after all! "A group of rogues attacked the wolves in Luggard's pack, and there are already warriors from other packs rushing over to support them. Hopefully, it will not be too late. And when the people here are fully assembled, they will also move down there immediately ". Lycan said, without moving from his seat. "I am going too". My voice, and hands shake as I blurted out that word. They were both shocked I suggested that. "Okay, but no matter what, you will not get involved in the figjt". Lycan gave me a deep look, as he said that to me; not giving me a chance to refuse. Few minutes later, Lycan was taking me in a car to the direction of Luggard's Wolves gathering point; The Dusk Moon pack house. Followed by a dozen werewolf warriors in the cars behind us. I still wished the car could go a little faster! That home I knew so well was not so far away, when I saw fire flames, and the smell of blood filled the air. A little more closer, the smell. of blood had become heavier and more heavier; even I could hear the roar of the werewolves. When I saw the house, it was already surrounded by fire and by werewolves. There were Luggard's wolves , and other werewolves I had never seen before. Those would be the rogues! I thought. The car pulled up at the wooded place, and I was about to step out of the car when Lycan stopped me. "Just stay in the car and wait until I get this place sorted out before you can come out". He said. Without waiting for my response, he had already led the other wolves in the direction of the rogues and rushed forward. All of them turned into wolves as they approached the house. I sat in the car, with my eyes on the werewolves who were fighting, hoping to find my mother Isabella. A little farther from the house, I saw Luggard Winston-Salem, and Isabella my mother, surrounded by several werewolves. They were covered in blood but still did not flinch. Lycan didn't spot them, but was fighting the other rogues. I pulled open the car door and got out, took my jacked off and put it on the car. " Tiffany you better not do what you are planning to do; you don't have the strength to fight yet". Jada tried to stop me. "That is my mother over there; I can't let her die too, and leave me!". I replied firmly, even though I knew I wasn't strong enough to fight. "You will probably get hurt, or even die Tiffany, aren't you scared?!". Jada asked, I could feel her scared in my head. "It is better than doing nothing". I replied. I was determined. My body began to shift, my limbs sprouting sharp Wolf's claws, and fangs peeking out of my wolf mouth. This time, it didn't make me feel the intense pain I felt the day I first transformed; just a burning sensation of my blood boiling. I completed the shift quickly. "Tiffany, hopefully we will all survive; we and our mates". Jada said to me. "Definitely! ". I replied I ran wildly in my mother's direction, so as to try to fight to protect her. just as my father would do if he was to be here now.
