Definitely not a thief.

I just nodded my head, and didn't answer. My head still lowered as I wondered what other answer I would have told. "I have a little more food in my room, you can take it. And I will order them to prepare your dinner plate". Lycan said, and just headed to his room immediately. I hesitated for a moment, contemplating if I would accept the offer or let it pass. But the rumbling of hunger in my stomach, and Jada's voice of excitement in my head, wouldn't let me think straight. I just followed him. Lycan's living are also had a living room with pastries, and juices on the coffee table. "You can help yourself from there". Lycan said to me as soon as I stepped into the living room. And without saying anymore thing to me, he went straight to his study. As I was alone in Lycan's living room, eating the food hungrily, I couldn't help but think of my mother; Isabella and Luggard Winston-Salem. Although Luggard didn't like me, and my father died because of him, yet he was still good enough for me; compared to Lycan and what I go through in this place. At least he wouldn't let me go hungry after work! As I thought about the food I would have been eating in my house, instead of the pastries and juice I am eating now, tears flowed down my face again, and trickled down the corners of my mouth, and I could feel the saltiness of the tears in my mouth. I wished it was Sunday already! But it was Wednesday. The thought of how to spend the next few days here, and how to get along with the maids made it seemed like eternity before I could have my break. My stomach didn't filled up until all the pastries and juice finished. I stood up, and due to my now filled stomach, my mood improved. As I was cleaning up the table, and returning the glasses of juice, a maid walked in. I could see the surprise on her face as she just looked at me and walked to the door of Lycan's study room and knocked. The way she looked at me with obvious disgust and utmost dislike, made me wondered why the hostility to me. It was my first day here for crying out loud, and I hadn't even said a word to any of the maids here except to clean up. Wasn't that why I was brought here? On getting Lycan's permission to come in, she entered the study and closed the door after her. And I concentrated once more to the cleaning of the coffee table I just had pastries on. "Tiffany, the Alpha chief wants you to come here for a moment ". The maid came out from the study, and said to me. Surprised, as what could be the urgency, I followed her back into the study in a hurry. Both of us stood before Lycan as he said. "Raka, could you repeat what you told me?". He asked the maid, I turned and looked on at her. "I said sir, that Tiffany was seen this morning, taking something from your room". What?! How could she said that; who said that?! "I didn't take anything that belongs to the Alpha; I wouldn't touch anytjingbwithout a permission!". I was almost yelling. "Somebody saw you taking a gem ring from the ALPHA'S collection of jewelries Tiffany, just be nice and give it back! ". She said firmly, like she was very sure and like she saw me take the ring with her own eyes. Out of shock I just stared at her, and she stared back. In the silence that followed, I just wondered. Why are they all hostile at me; what did I do wrong? "Is that true?! ". That question, and the familiar voice and cold tone brought me back from my wonderland. "I only cleaned the room this morning, other than that, I didn't touch or stole anything from you". I said to Lycan with a frown. They could say anything to me here, treat me with disgust and contentment, but I wouldn't let them accuse me wrongly of theft. I hadn't stolen anything from anybody! "Raka, are you sure about this? ". "Yes sir, she stole your gemstone ring". "I didn't steal it, I've never seen the jewel ring before, I don't even know where it us". I felt sad ,and angry inside. Why were people there so cruel, making me clean all morning, mocking me at lunch, and now, slandering me with an accusation of stealing? "So where did she take the ring to if you were so sure you saw her steal it". Lycan asked her calmly. This is unusual of Lycan, could it be he had a trust in me this time that I wouldn't steal his belonging? "Sir, Tiffany is in the right position to answer that question because she left the villa when all the other maids were still having lunch. She may have hidden the jewelry somewhere secret". The maid replied, calmly. I looked hard at the woman. She is a born liar to say all these things about me. And her confident?! It is amazing how she was confidently lying. "But Tiffany had not left this villa since morning, I saw her in her room myself". The maid froze when she heard Lycan's voice. And probably didn't expect the Alpha to be this calm with a news of theft, let alone stealing from his own person belonging. "I..I.. I'm sorry sir, it could be that there was a mistake, sir". The maid stammered, she is now somewhat panicked. "Raka, do you understand the consequences of lying to me? "Yes sir... I am sorry sir". She pleaded, as she quickly went on her knees, pleading. I didn't know why they were doing this, nor why I am in the center of this whole thing. I just stood there while Lycan scolded the maid, and wondered if he believed me. If I hadn't heard, nor seen in person, how Lycan gave me a fair justice back there, I wouldn't have believed he could think of me as anything good. He had always treated me like a useless wolf. "I told you Tiffany, it is all falling into place. All he needed was time to realized and noticed us". Jada's excitement echoed in my head. "Don't be too excited Jada, Lycan that I know can be too complicated. He once saved us from some hungry wolves, remember? Yet it didn't change how lowly he thinks of me and even made me his personal maid". In as much as I would have loved to believe Jada, Lycan Herlbert can never change. As I lay on the soft bed in my room, I thought through the event that just happened. Will the maid get punished, or was punishment only meant for me? While I stare at the ceiling, deep in thought, a whipping like that of the tail of a horse interrupted me. I stood up, and looked out the window and saw it. It was the maid, being punished for lying to Alpha Lycan. The soldier at the gate was flogging her on her back, while the Butler held her two hands against the tree in the middle of the garden with a big shade. It was pathetic! Although I felt relieved, and a little light in my heart that I was being vindicated, I still felt sorry for her that she is being punished. It could be me under that whip, one day; someday. But Jada seems to think otherwise. "Fate is turning favourably towards us". She said excitedly. Jada has fallen for Lycan's wolf already. I smiled, and went back to the bed, after looking at myself in the mirror, in the servants outfit. There was a knock at the door, and I got out of bed and answered it. A young man was standing in front of me at the doorway, and I could recognize his face from memory. He was sitting together with Lycan on that day of the banquet. He was Gamma, and an ally, and friend of Lycan's. Santiago is his name; Santiago Perez. He had a short brown hair, light brown eyes, a fair skin and a killer smile that is always on his face; that made him look full of sunshine and energy. He was of the same height with Lycan, but had a completely different temperament. "You must be Lycan's personal maid, Tiffany". He said, more like a statement than a question. "Yes, I am. Is there anything you will like me to do for you?!" I answered. He seemed gentle, or not as icy as Lycan is. "Nothing, just curious how Lycan suddenly had a personal maid". He said, brandishing his killer smile. "I don't understand, what are you talking about?". I said to him, curiosity written all over me. This made him smile the more, and said. "I mean you are pretty, little wonder Lycan wants you as his personal maid". He added, his hands folded across his chest, and he leaned slightly on the door frame. Was he here to tease me, or to pulling my legs? I wondered. I didn't think he was here to praise me, for being a maid, which made me surprised and unreasonable shy. "I am only here, as a personal maid, because the Alpha decided that of me. I can only obey". I replied. And that was the truth. If Lycan hadn't threatened to mark me as a rogue, and made sure no pack would accept me, I wouldn't have been here. At least not as a maid. Was it Jada that said that last line in my head or was it my imagination? I wondered. And it seemed Santiago could see the worries on my face. "That's alright, all the same. I only wanted to know what Lycan's personal maid looked like, and from what I can see; he didn't make a wrong decision. I am sure Lycan will bring you with him when we go to the meeting with the head of the northern wolf pack in a couple if days". Santiago said indifferently with a wave of his hand, as he stood upright, ready to leave. "The Ansett family; the red-blooded wolf clan ?". I asked. He is surprised, and taken aback that a common maid could know about the red-blooded wolf clan. "Do you know about the head of the Northern red-blooded wolf clan? He inquired. I lowered my head. I was tempted to tell him that my father was an Alpha; the Alpha of The Dusk Moon wolf pack, Alpha Sapphire Nathan. But I decided against that. It would only result to a shame, that the daughter of the former Alpha of the Dusk Moon pack is a slave. And that would cost more hurt. "Yes, I knew the Ansett family; I saw them the other day during the banquet at the Herlbert's family villa. I saw you there too". I said, and smiled too. It was my turn to kill him too with a killer smile. But in my own case, I was feigning it. And I was sure it wouldn't hold any water on anybody. Not even him It couldn't hold any on Lycan Herlbert, my fated mate anyway. I thought in my mind. "It did, he will admit it soon". Jada? Or me? Who said that? I wondered. "Well the Ansett family is also allied with Lycan, so it is only natural that he'll meet the other side chiefs. And I will look forward to seeing you again there". He said so firmly, like he was giving an instruction., as he walked away; towards Lycan's room. I respect his confidence , even when I didn't really care if Lycan took me with him to the meeting, or not. I can't make the decision for him. As Santiago walked to Lycan's room door, the door opened and Lycan appeared at the doorpost.
