The elf was very uncomfortable as he walked to the altar and waited patiently for the wedding to start. This wasn't right. Weddings should take place outdoors, under the great blue sky, where the shining sun and ancestors can watch and sing and dance for the couple, not in a cold stone building where the only light came through a stained glass window. The musicians started playing some somber hymn as the guests filed in and sat down. He looked over the sea of dull, tepid colors that matched the dusty, gothic surroundings as all eyes were glued to the 'barbarous foreigner' with his bright colors, unbound hair and tall stature. It was a great relief then when the Regina Bellona and her fathers the Regibus walked through the grand doors and towards the front. The elf bowed respectfully to them and gave Bellona a small smile as she stood next to him. The vows dragged on, not that he was paying attention to them. The cleric cleared his throat a little just to make sure Cad was listening before speaking. "Ch'ok Ajaw Cadmael, do you wish to marry Regina Bellona?" "Yes." His response was maybe a bit too quick and curt but he didn't care. "Regina Bellona?" "I do." Her response was rather quiet. Cadmael could hardly stand to look her in the eyes. She seemed so excited and hopeful. He dreaded when he would see the ball drop and the young woman realized that he didn't care about this. It's not like it was a marriage, more like a business contract...right?
