Chapter 19Connor Maclean was sitting on an uncomfortable stool, sweating profusely. It wasn't hot, in fact it wasn't even warm – just typical spring rainy weather. And yet, he was all wet. His heart was just below his throat, an enormous weight was hanging in his stomach and he could hardly control the trembling of his arms and legs. He was simply terrified. He drove away from the farm, leaving Mary and Adrien there, with only one goal: to reach the Irish and explain everything before it would be too late. Some time has passed since the unlucky job at the port and that, unfortunately, was visible.
