After their workout, Heath left Rue alone to manage his responsibilities, leaving her with a heavy heart. She knew she wouldn't see him until the merge party later that day. With sweat covering her face, neck, and almost her entire body, Rue walked into the main kitchen of the pack villa, where she found many warriors drinking coffee, water, or protein shakes.
Rue tried to make her way to the crane, but everyone seemed to dodge her, creating an easy path for her to walk through. She filled a water bottle with water and was surprised to see another path cleared all the way to the door. ‘What's going on?’ she wondered aloud, but nobody responded. She noticed her closest friend William leaning against a wall, staring at her from a distance. Even her best friend seemed distant.
