Nine Years

In 7 years, the underground bunker was almost complete. The Burnhill kept trying to spy on him but with like the previous ones, they suffered the same fate. The time for Apocalypse was almost there. In the next year, the Apocalypse would start. He called another meeting. This time, he called the girls, Chan, Sara and recruits who were famous in the Apocalypse.  "I've call you all here to tell you something. As you may have noticed, Chan and the girls, I've been carrying something for the last 9 years." "Yeah, you never told me." "Well, I called you here to tell you about it. There's no way to sugarcoat it so I'll just say it. In 1 year, the Apocalypse will happen." The cyber engineer, Rose stifle a laugh, "What do you mean Apocalypse? Like zombie apocalypse?" "No, not zombie apocalypse. This is more serious than that. I wouldn't be calling you here if it was zombies. They are easy to kill. No, this is far more serious. Why do think I've been doing this? Building a shelter, building a private army? We're facing against enemies which are nearly unkillable." "Is this why you've been hiring us? Because of this? Why us?" "You know what, I'll start from the start. I'm from the future. I know all your names here. You all became famous with what you're doing now. Cyber engineer, agriculture research, sniper. The sniper, Dave here never missed a shot during the Apocalypse. But it wasn't enough. The humanity became extinct. I died along with humanity. But I somehow woke up 10 years ago, in my bed. I knew that I have to do something to prevent it from happening again." "If you know what will happen, why not just make it not happen?" "Because they are lab-made. By an organization called, Burnhill. All of their employees have a fire tattoo on their hand. Now tell me, do you think I am kidding or not?" Chan stared into his eyes, "So that's what you couldn't tell me?" "Yes. If you knew, it would be the only thing on your mind and you wouldn't be able to focus." "I believe you. You've preparing for 9 years, straight. That would need some motivation." Dave, the sniper said, "Yeah, and there's no way for a 18 years old to teach me how to shoot accurately if he hadn't had special training first."  "Everyone who don't believe me now can leave. You can die alone when the Apocalypse come." He stared at everyone. His eyes daring them to go. "Boss, we're not going. We believe you." "Yeah, I believe you too." Some didn't believe him but they agreed because the pay here was too good. And if the Apocalypse did happen, they would be safe. "Good, now. I'll tell you the date of the flight to my island later. You can bring your family if you want. The shelter have 2 million rooms. As of now, there are more than 200k people working here. If all their family come and live in the shelter, there'll be place for more than 1 million people. I want some civilian to come and hide in our shelter too. I want to make a lottery system among all the countries and pick lucky 1 million people from the 10 billion population. Lucky for you, I remember the day of the Apocalypse. Just say that the people who won the lottery will be able to stay for a day in the safest and most comfortable bunker in the world. And say that we'll handle all the price. And arrange first class flight for all of them. They should have at least 1 day of luxury before the Apocalypse hit. We got a lot to do." All of them got to work with whatever Alessandro told them to do. He was however taking care of something else. He was working together with the girls to arrange the lottery. "Boss, is what you said in the room, true?" "Yes, it's true. Why do you think I was so mature 9 years ago? It's because my mental age is 36. I'm now nearly 47 so..." "Hehe. Boss, stop joking around. This is life or death, isn't it?" "Yeah, I have to be as optimistic as I can. You see, I've experience this before. You girls haven't. I need to be strong to protect those near me. I've fight these things. You see, if I tell you before, you would not be focus on your job. I needed everyone to be focus. Now that all the essential things have finished, I can tell you girls but let's focus now. These people depend on us, whoever wins the lottery."
