I am so unsure about what’s going on right now. Papa Randall said he was here because of the crown, and Laylah didn’t protest. She’s wearing my crown. It looks so damn good on her. Is this something that she can do with it? It’s only shown me the future.
It took Mom a moment to get over the shock of him standing in here. And then it took him another moment to convince her not to get CeCe.
“Your CeCe can’t see me like this. It wouldn’t be fair to David,” he told her.
I’ve always been told how wonderful and selfless Papa Randall was. It’s totally different watching it happen, though.
I reach out and take Laylah’s hand in mine. “I’m sorry,” I whisper, not trying to disturb Mom.
“Me, too,” she says, giving me a sad smile. “I’ll explain later when we’re alone.”
