We walk out of Seth’s office after Audrey’s meeting. I can see her point, and I can also see how Andrew needs us not to be scared to touch him. Everyone except for me, that is. Some of my memories are horrible. Perhaps someday, when he’s fully grown, he can see them. For now, though, he’s just a kid. He shouldn’t see those horrors.
Calvin and Rob walk ahead, so I slow my steps a little and wait for Peter. He gives me a small smile before I reach out and wrap him in a hug. He looks haunted. I know that everything that happened with Andrew is weighing heavily on him. We all have our secrets, and the thought of having Andrew see them is horrifying for everyone.
