-Andrew- “I’m headed to bed,” Pops says when we get out of the car back home. “I’m taking the early morning shift tomorrow. I believe Laylah is standing guard currently.” I sigh. Laylah shouldn’t be doing that at all. I doubt I’ll ever convince her of that, though. I make the walk downstairs, where I find Ginseng seated outside the room. I haven’t seen her since I marked Laylah. I haven’t seen her since Laylah finally told me her name. It’s stupid, but I swear my heart flutters. I’m torn between going to her or shifting and letting Valerian. But I can’t contain my excitement at seeing her. I slowly approach, my hand outstretched. She sits up, looking up at me with her dark blue wolf eyes. Now that I’m really looking, her wolf eyes are the same blue they are when she cries.
