Soren's Pov The city was loud that night, louder than usual. I stood by the glass wall of my office, watching the rain slide down the windows like melting silver. Below, cameras flashed outside the building, reporters shouting my name as if it belonged to them. Knight Enterprises was bleeding. Clara had made sure of that. I hadn’t slept in two days. Every call from the board felt like another knife. They wanted me gone, and Clara was feeding them every lie she could. I’d built this company from nothing, and now it was crumbling because I’d trusted the wrong people, because I’d trusted my heart. Adrian’s face came to mind, the look he gave me before walking away.
