The women and men in the class stopped chatting as soon as they saw the new face that entered the room, even their instructor, Ms. Relia, paused in her teaching when he walked in. It was a tall man, with a straight nose, mestizo features, and handsome curly hair - Harvey, the new transfer student from America.
"Good morning class, This is Harvey Clarkson, the nephew of the university owner." Ms. Relia announced, surprising the students.
"And he came from the U.S. to study here at his aunt's university. I hope you'll all be friendly towards him because he is a very kind and intelligent young man, " Ms. Relia added.
The women were in awe as Harvey introduced himself. He glanced towards the seat next to a girl with long hair who was sitting next to an empty chair.
"Hi Harvey! Can you sit beside Alex, it seems like the person next to her won't be coming to class, so you can sit there for now, " Macy said with a hint of playfulness.
"Thanks," Harvey responded to Macy.
It was a short exchange but it had a significant impact on Macy, she seemed almost swoon-worthy with a sense of excitement accompanying her feelings.
"May I sit here?" Harvey asked Alex who was busy reviewing her notes.
Alex adjusted her hair as she heard Harvey's question.
She looked up at Harvey and her eyes widened in surprise as she recognized the boy in front of her.
"Y-yes, " Alex responded almost mechanically.
Harvey looked at Alex with surprise. "You're...? " He didn't finish his sentence because---
Alex stood up and excused herself from Ms. Relia. "Ma'am, can I leave? I have a stomach ache," she said, holding her stomach.
She needed to get away from her seat because she felt like she was being swallowed whole by the ground due to the embarrassment she felt in the bathroom earlier.
Ms. Relia agreed. "Sure, Alex."
Harvey also stood up, surprising Ms. Relia. "Ma'am, can I leave as well? I need to get my documents from the office."
Ms. Relia eventually agreed. "Sure, Harvey."
Alex and Harvey exchanged worried glances as they made their way out of the class.
Alex ran out of the classroom, but Harvey followed her. He pulled her into a cramped space - the janitor's room. They were unaware that the door was faulty.
They argued, but in hushed tones. "Who are you?" Alex asked. "Why did you drag me here?" She pretended to question to avoid revealing herself as the girl in the bathroom earlier.
Harvey replied, "You're the girl from the bathroom, aren't you?"
Alex was shocked. "What? How did you recognize me?" She asked anxiously.
"I couldn't forget what happened earlier. You ran away. " he added.
Alex ignored his comment and tried to open the door, but no matter how much she turned the doorknob left or right, it didn't budge. "What's happening? Why won't the door open?! "
Harvey looked at the door. "It looks like we're locked in," he said, patting his pockets.
" Oh my god, "Alex whispered to herself.
