Livia’s POV
New day, new hope.
The house is once again free of David and Tyler, and it seems that it will be this way while they’re hiding from the men that they got in trouble with. It’s both a blessing and a curse for my mom and me, but I’m deciding to make it a blessing by focusing on the job that I just got.
Last night, I called John, Mom’s friend in town, a really old kind man who owns a small souvenir shop. The reason I had to do it in secret is because he and Mom had a falling-out because of David. John always said that Mom is too good for the scumbag. Mom just never listened, and I knew that it would hurt her pride if I told her.
So now, I have to go to his shop and work in complete secrecy.
I’ll be starting later after school.
