9. Anderton's Hotel, Fleet Street, LondonThese were exciting times, Friend. I had the bowels of London at my fingertips and a new found purpose positively glowing inside me. My rooms at Anderton's were most pleasing, being both comfortable and in a central location from which I could dally forth in to the labyrinth of shoddy terraced houses and ale-sodden inns. I filled my lungs with the scents around me: hop yards, jam and pickle factories and fish shops, quite a unique combination but, ultimately, the smell of poverty. London was a heaven for those wishing to experience hell, and that was just what I had in mind!
